Hogue grips on a KJW P229
So I'm a big fan of Hogue and Pachmayr grips and I just picked up a P229. The Hogues with finger grooves look really sweet on the 229, so I'm wondering if anyone managed to install them on theirs (KJW)?
All I've seen so far was an older post by Illusion who mentioned it needed a lot of work to fit Hogues onto a Marui 226.

From what I've seen of the KJW, the grip and its internals are identical to the TM. I would think it's a pretty safe bet it would take the exact same modifications to fit it.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, but Marui doesn't have a 229, so I dunno how much KJ changed the frame from the 226 (or if they cloned another brand outright)

I couldn't say if they're 100% the same or not, but the mechanisms for the hammer spring is the same (at least visually) on both KJW and TM. That's what makes the stock real steel grips NOT fit. The same mod would have to be done for either gun. If to the same degree or not, I can't say, but it would require the same modification.
I ruined my Hogue grip trying to mod it for my 226.

I've done exactly what you're asking, Drake. Hogue grip on a KJW 229, did not take that much effort.
