Future Cansoft guns/m14?
Hey, anyone know of any future airsoft guns planned for release as cansoft guns, namely any m14s? That would be really cool, not sure how it'd work though, which parts would have to be clear? Maybe it'd be more for an EBR? Though aren't those usually full metal. I'd be interested in hearing 'bout anything else though, that G36 series look very nice 8-)

It would have to be the receiver, which is metal on all decent M14's and would be shit if it wasn't metal.
So don't count on that anytime soon. |

I am one of the few people who can look past the clear receivers (especially after paint) but the part that would need to be clear on an M14 would absolutely ruin the gun and make if feel like a kids toy if it wasn't metal.

I am pretty sure that you guys are incorrect in that the bolt would have to be clear as if you take a look a t this shitty spring m14 here:
http://buyairsoft.ca/catalog/popup_image.php?pID=398 You will find that the stock must be clear not the bolt assembly. |

The receiver is the restricted part. The stock is just a peice of plastic/wood/etc (It would be the same as importing a block of wood). |

All technicalities aside, has anyone got any news or rumor if any of the reputable makers are planning of making/selling a cansoft version of the M14?

No because of the "technicalities" you're putting aside. The problem with certain guns is you can't make the restricted part clear easily.

As you're AV'ed, you can most likely find a good one in the classifieds.

This is silly. These are toy guns. People in this country with a PAL can buy a real gun easier than an airsoft gun. We need to start a lobby in Ottawa. A pro-airsoft lobby.
Maybe ASC could devote a section to collecting donations and we could build a multi-million dollar lobby in the future. I am not fooling myself, it will take millions of dollars to open peoples eyes. Related is this issue of people not being responsible for your own actions. If you buy a cup of coffee, it shouldn't have to warn you that it is hot. Airsoft shouldn't have to suffer because someone is delusional or suicidal (or, god help us, stupid) enough to flash a replica in public. Why do "toys" need to be banned to protect these types. Look around and see if you can take a pic of something stupid like that. We could probably have 1000's of examples. |
