Star Scar H Spring Trouble
Okay, so recently we put a 150% spring in our SCAR H which was shooting 320 stock. It didn't bump it up at all. We then put my old stock spring from my STAR L85 in there and it jumped up to 330ish, while the 150% spring I bought from the same dealer moved my L85 from 300-350. Hop up is totally backed off. so why isn't the FPS moving at all with the diff springs?

It might just be that the 150% you bought is about the same as the stock SCAR-H spring. Try a different rating spring from a different brand, I personally like Modify.

We thought that at first as well, but then why would the 150% bring my L85 up 50 FPS and not bring the scar up any while the stock spring on my L85 brought the SCAR H up 10 FPS?

PDI 150% (any PDI spring for that matter) are P.O.S. in the worst way possible. Buy a different spring.
Now onto this, sounds like airleakage might be in issue in this case. Springs don't react the same in different types of guns, barrel length, hop up type and seal, etc. all play a role in how any spring will have the output affected. A GOOD 150% spring (they are rare) will get you about 350fps in some guns. |

You're assuming Star uses the exact same spring in all their guns.

I think your missing what he's saying. He puts the L85 spring in the scar-fps goes up. He puts the pdi spring in the L85 and the fps goes up. But when he puts the pdi spring in the scar-fps doesn't go up. The STAR Scar series are weird. I had the same kind of issues with one and I found that if I pushed back on the barrel (there is a tiny bit of slop where the quick change lock/gas port is) the fps would go up, so an air seal issue in the hop-up area was the problem I had.
