My FPS is too HIGH
Hi, I own the tsd l96 and it shoots anywhere in between 460 and 475 fps which is too high to get into the event i want to participate in. Any idea on how to slow it down. (i am pretty sure that this is not a problem posed by many people on this site) also i live in canada so keep that in mind when describing options.
(Also I am kind of a little bit too timid to try messing around with the spring or anything like that, i was thinking some kind of external mod.) p.s. i need to lower the fps by about 10 to 30 fps

there is no possible way of screwing up you gun by changing the spring... unless you try doing it with a welding torch!

here, i'm going to tell you how to get to the spring without dissasembling the body...
look behind the trigger, you should see a post or some kind of pin... press it down (away from the gun) then remove the cheek rest on the stock. the just slide the bolt assembly out of the gun. now you just have to uncrew the cylinder head and the guts will come out. swap the spring and reassemble! done!

You could try compressing your
spring for an extended period of time. Everyone knows that springs lose their pop when left compressed ie: mags are left loaded for weeks, AEGs are half cycled and then put away. Same for hammer springs in a GBB, don't store it with it cocked. Just a thought, good luck.

find someone with a chrony...lol you need a aps type96 spring in here... i would say a 120 or 130... i dont have first hand experience with these spring... i stuck a vsr10 in my friends type 96 and it did the job... lol another lazy option would be to cut the spring... again not the best solution if you want a concistent gun...

You should buy an airsoft chrony
if your going to run a gun close to field limits. Or arrange to borrow from a pal. Or hit up a field or indoor place to use the house chrony on an airsoft night/day.

If your spring has coils that are tighter on one end than the other, flip the spring around so the tighter coils are at the piston end (which is the wrong way to do it, you'll see why)............... you might get anywhere from 0 to 30fps drop on your velocity.
