If you plan on gaming a sniper your not going to have ANY advantage at all really unless your running a hot gun fps wise.

Also, "Serious Budget" and sniping don't go together.

Not sure entirely about the inner barrel for you specific sniper model, but it's 435mm for a standard tm vsr 10 inner barrel.

A 130sp spring will probably get you close to 450fps.

And I also suggest getting upgraded sears as the clone sear sets degrade quite fast.

no prob.

I wouldn't be so sure about the inner barrel length though. From what I've heard, some vsr clones have different inner barrel lengths than the TM version. Might have to get someone else to confirm this.

Heavy BBs are a MUST for a sniper rifle, go with 0.30g or 0.36g BBs, recommnd the Bastards. You don't NEED high fps in a bolt action rifle, I've been running my CA M24 all year at just under 400fps w/0.20g BBs, and even though my 0.36g are coming out at around 300fps, I've got great range and predictable consistancy, much better than when I had it running around 500fps the past four years.

Nutshell, it's the heavier BBs that'll set you apart from other airsoft guns for range. Is just a matter of learning how to use them.

basic upgrades aside from heavy bbs are:

Tightbore:
Prometheus, or KM are your best bet for mid level pricing. Madbull is your best bet for low-level pricing. and PDI is your best bet for high-end pricing. In terms of performance, they are all relatively equal, with Prometheus and PDI being tied, and KM being a close competitor (most reviews say equal).

Spring:
While power is necessary, i wouldn't play with the power and keep the gun stock for the first year. This will let you get a feel for BA sniping and not put too much wear on your gun

Hop-up:
Upgrade the hop-up rubber after a year or two, or if you upgrade the power of your gun, upgrade the rubber.

In short, the only real basic upgrades you can do, are a Tightbore and heavy bbs. you may want to consider upgrading the spring, but expect the longevity of your rifle to decrease without further (internal) upgrades

High power spring upgrades tend to mean sear or trigger upgrades as well if you want it to last.

I got a full EdGI kit and I absolutely love it.

The best part is definitely the EdGI inner barrel. The only thing I hate about it is that all their springs are rated above 550++ FPS, which is absolutely ridiculous (makes the gun goddamn loud too). I switched the EdGI spring out for a laylax 130sp to fix that issue.

You can deal directly through Ed on his blog site

http://www.airsoftretreat.com/review...uct=224&cat=10 - review of the edgi kit

In my opinion, I'll lean a little toward a laylax spring and spring guide, but everything else EdGI.

Keep in mind that the inner barrels are designed to fit the outer barrel length; you can't extend it past the barrel cap and hide it with a silencer (without modding). He's in the Philippines so shipping can be expensive.

EDIT: I believe if you go to the Edgi usa site, you can find several US retailers that sell his products.

ok...

-pdi tightbore 6.01 vsr lengt ... absolute joy!
-.30g bastards or heavier
- around 400 fps spring, i think mine is a m120 or 110 (i forgot but i makes my vsr shoots 397-410)
- uprgaded sears (for a 400 fps setup the 0 trigger is not absolutely needed)
- FIREFLY HARD bucking (a must with the pdi tightbore)
- metal spring guide
- laylax cylinder head (seal is freakin awesome)

in mine i still have the stock piston (removed airbreak) and cylinder... i kept them because they gives me a perfect compression ... dont forget to put oring grease on the piston's oring

gives the gun nearly 300 feet of range with no wind... now i want to try using washed bastard .36g bb's
