Good Mesh Masks

Hey there everyone, just wondering where you would choose to buy a mesh mask from? I have been eyeing up the mask on EBB but I really don't trust Chinese mass production with the protection of my eyes.

Where is the ideal place to buy a mask such as this?

Many places (in Ontario) do not allow mesh masks, as some bb's have a bad habit of turning to dust on impact... and nobody like's having bb dust in their eyes.

Also, the fine gauge wire of this style of mask is questionable at best.

A whole bunch of the TWATs use the HFC Mesh Masks that come with full face protection (which is removable) and has stood up to the test of time over and over. Ive since lost mine and will try to get another pair as they are just fucking AWESOME.

The ArmyofTwo and similiar masks the Illusion here on ASC retails are also high quality masks which have been proven to take the heavy hits. He has a thread in the retailler section with them.

lol one of my friends bought one of these things thinking he could use it in paintballing. He didn't realize what it meant by "Airsofting mask". What an idiot! Although, you never have to worry about fog with one of these.

+1, i wouldnt recomend them either.

People say that they are safe as long as no one uses bio BBs, but i have had every brand i have ever tried (KSC, Madbull, BB Bastart, BBB and more) shatter when hitting a hard surface.

Thats why many fields don't allow mesh masks

Here's a good link to some testing a player did. It illustrates quite well why many clubs, teams and fields do not allow mesh masks.

Mesh Mask No-No

We do not allow them on our field and I'm pretty sure no one in Calgary allows them either. JOC prohibits them for sure. There are those who will argue this, that and the other to be allowed to use them (Why would they sell them then? They use them in Asia, why not here?, etc.) What it really boils down to is, even if you were allowed to use mesh eye protection, would you really be willing to risk the permenent loss of your eyesight for a game? Hell, I used to wear unsealed ballistic glasses with a head strap (almost no fogging)...until I caught a burst come in through the top and actually felt bb's scraping against my eye ball. No damage, luckily, but I only wear sealed ballistic glasses/goggles now. IMHO, mesh goggles are a tragedy waiting to happen. For those who instist they will wear them anyway, go hard and I truely hope you don't have to learn to use a white cane because of it.

I had a bb shatter on my safeties at close range and the fragments pelted my face, that was scarey enough! If it was mesh... I don't even wanna think about it.
