Harris bipod question?

Does a harris bipod work on the maruzen Type 96 rifle? Just wanted to know before i buy a $100 bipod to collect dust in the closet.

I don't think so...unless there is an adaptor.

The L96 takes a "Parker Hale" style bipod...which has a stub that inserts into the front of the stock.

The Harris style typically has 2 prongs that pinches onto a sling swivel stud.

Hope that helps,

Tys

There IS a Parker Hale to RIS adapter, I'm trying to find it on RW or WGC since I know I seen them there before. But the problem here is that you'll end up having to get a RIS adapter as well, and that means you have three points of mounting which could eventually lead to problems, perhaps not so for airsoft but still. It'd be a much better deal for you to hand over the funds to get the proper bi-pod for your APS.

Alternatively, you COULD just mount a RIS rail on the bottom of the stock, which would not be difficult, and then simply use a RIS adapter from that point.

Interesting and the ball point bipod for the aps should cost less than the harris correct?

Harris bi-pod will fit the Type 96. There is a ball point underneath the front stock where the other bipod attaches.

if I may add, I have a JG Bar10, what type bipod would I need? it has a round nub at the front with no sling mounts visible.

Harris and clones pinch the ball at the fore of the stock.

As long as you have a sling stud on your stock at the front end the harris will work. Harris bipods attach to sling studs by clamping onto them.

So then that would mean it would fit on the L96 as well...but the harris style not have angled sides to it to form to the 700 stock would you need to some how re-shape or trim the front stock?

Normaly you will have enough play in the adjustment screw to let it sit on the flat surface of the L96.
