Hey guys,

I just need alittle help!

I dont know if this is real or fake. So far I am leaning towards a fake because it looks exactly like the one on ebay for 35 bucks. The person I am talking to says it is real. Please help!

I havent bought it yet! Just negotiating the prices. I even pointed out all the flaws but he answered everything straight forward. He says he purchased it from someone at www.ar15.com

That's pretty detailed for a fake. I have yet to see a cloner who's gone through the effort to engrave a heatshiled on the inside, as well as seperate painted internal markings (why mark at all when nobody will see it and you can save a buck).

It's in the right price range for a real one though.

There are airsoft varients that have the information stamped on the inside (minus the KAC logo) of the heatshield just for realism nuts like myself, however i've never seen laser etchings on the inside of the RAS itself by any airsoft clone MFG. Looks legit to me. Also get him to hold a magnet to it, if it sticks its steel I dont believe there are any airsoft KAC RAS units that aren't made of anything other than aluminum or crappy alloy.

I was comparing it to this one:

Link

This one, which is made in China has all the markings and stamps of the real one.

Thanks for the advices guys... still alittle skepticism in me though.

Ive noticed that the rail the person is selling me is also missing its US. Pat number on the top rail like this one below:

Notice the extra dimpling of the heatshield on the first one you showed vs the second one. That dimpling is done to provide support for the shield so it doesn't resonate and buzz/ring during shooting.

That makes me think the first one is real. Also look at the rails. They show signs of wear, but very little in the way of scratches. The parkerized finish used on steel parts for the U.S. military is very tough. It wears much easier than it scratched.

I think he has a good rep. PM Hades over there. He's be able to tell you if this guy has had problems there of if he thinks it's legit. Those guys in Hawaii get all the best parts, so they have lots of experience.

If that rail is in the US it won't pass US customs (aka its export restricted). KAC aren't allowed to leave the US w/o a permit.

Looks pretty damn real to me. Pay with paypal and ull know once you hold it if its real or not. If its fake then paypal claim.
