Headset and Helmet light combo.
A while back when ebaybanned came out with their 'HL1-A-TN clones, I thought I would try one. It paled in comparison to the real deal, as you would all know if you had read the review on it. Anyways, aside from simply tossing it in the trash, I threw it in some random parts drawer to let it rott away.
Until recently, when an idea popped into my head where I thought I could actually make use of it, and use of it I did make! After 2 bottles of wine and a 26oz of jagermeister, I convinced my HL1 to have sex with my cloneman (clone bowman) headset. Please allow me to introduce you to their bastard child!

That's a very intuitive design: I might just copy it.
I've always wanted a headlight, but I don't like helmets or having my hat peak forward. |

That actually looks pretty neat. Kudos to you. I was going to jump on that sale ebaybanned had, but looking at the review it looks like I was better off. Ditto with ShelledPants, Im not a fan of head wear just because my head is huge, unless its a toque. How is it attacted to the cloneman?

Is your cloneman (clone bowman) from ebaybanned aswell. I kinda like the look of your bastard child. Will it still fold down or is it fixed in place.

Why not just use the mounting bracket that comes with them?

Duct tape. What are the possibilities of buying some new leds and batteries, and swapping them out for a better quality light? Or would the price add up to equal to the real one?

I had considered that, but I could not for the life of me figure out how I was going to attach it to the side of the headset, so it would be somewhat flush and secure. I had considered mighty putty but decided against that route.
Quote:
I pulled off the front of the lighting cover and found that the LEDs were soldered to a small circuit board of some form, quickly decided that poking around in there was above anything I knew how to do and put the front back on and said screw it. Didnt pick that one up from ebay banned, got this one from retailer on ebay. Although Im sure it is exactly the same at the ones on ebaybanned and all those other asian clone companies. Quality is fair, materials are fair, sound quality is fair.

Ah the rail adapter, yes I had considered that, found a small piece of 20mm rail to attach to the head set, but setting it all up and holding it all together by hand, I found it looked a little "off" or perhaps "bulky" could be a slightly better word. Personally I didnt not enjoy the look, but that is not to say others wouldnt.
