Revision Hellfly Glasses
I've currently been looking to get some new eye protection and I came accross these:
http://www.revisioneyewear.com/hellfly.html I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them. I've been looking for reviews and there's very little information besides some short reviews that you see customer's make at internet retailer's. I'm mainly wondering about fit around the eyes. I currently only use a pair of ansi rated saftey glasses and they're fine but I'm near-sighted and I can't wear contacts. If I get these I will be custom ordering a pair with my prescription and I just want a second opinion before I shell out that kind of money. I also like them because they look good and could double as prescription sun glasses as I am legally required to wear glasses while driving. Any info is appreciated. Thanks. i own a pair of issue sawfly's, and they are pretty nice. They definitely have that military look, being OD with black canadian flags on the sides.
look into getting a pair and try them out. they are ballistic, and pretty cheap too (not in quality, but in price). |

I've seen the sawfly's, and they would be good, but to get a prescription pair you have to use rx inserts which I don't really like. I would much rather the prescription be built into the lenses as you can have done with the hellfly's. Also I'm going to be using these as regular sunglasses and I don't really like the way the sawflies look. I'm pretty set on the hellfly's but am wondering if someone who has first hand experience with them would have a reason for me not to buy them. (like an improper seal on the face)

If they're anything like the Sawfly's I'd stay away from them if you don't have an easy source for the lenses. I myself have a brand new pair that I was issued and haven't used yet, but all my buddies on course have gone through atleast one or two lenses since basic from the scratches. Easy for us since we just go swap them at the QM, but I'd hate to have to replace perscription lenses every 6 months or so...

Heard bad things about the lenses as previously stated. I opted for a set of ESS ICE2.4s which I have very nice things to say about. Only rub is they also use an RX insert. On the plus side the same insert can be used in some of their goggles (profiles for sure).

Yeah, I shagged the hellfly idea. I'm in the works of picking up a pair of ess profiles now. A lot better protection around the sides. I might just pick up a pair of hellfly's later for sunglasses but leave the airsoft out of it.
