PDI VSR-10 Work in progress
Hey there... Just thought I'd share my lovely work in progress VSR-10.
Internals: PDI Barikaku VC Cylinder set PDI V-trigger Firefly "Spicy" (Hard) rubber PDI 554mm 6.05 Tightbore 2X PDI Bull Barrel spacers (soon to be 10 more) Laylax SP130 spring (Soon to be a PDI one.. have 3 on the way, gonna see what one gives me the closest to 450 FPS with my setup) Externals: PDI Bull Barrel base PDI Bull Barrel for 554 barrel /w horizontal flute PDI Bull Barrel end cap Bushnell Trophy 1.5X - 6X 42mm scope Chinese 30mm mount Currently it fires 472 FPS... That's 2 FPS too hot for my club... So I'm in the process of tuning it down. Here's some pictures.. Before the PDI external overhaul: After: Next to a Stock Marui VSR-10: Her with the scope on My plans so far are to upgrade to a PDI receiver, and either get a custom-machined bolt handle, or find the super hard to find Laylax off-set bolt handle. I was also thinking of getting a new scope that could be sun-shaded..... But the one I have now is amazing, It's got at least 6" of eye relief, so it's SUPER easy to raise and shoot. Any suggestions / Questions? |

Your club wont allow for a 2 FPS deviance?
Also, That looks so sweet - I need to get my hands on a fluted barrel.

Looks like an M24 with the bull barrel. I like it. I think a sunshaded scope would make it look a lot nicer. I had a CA M24, and the sunshaded scope completed the image, imo.

Looking good.
Just going to leave it the colour it is or got plans for that too? How's the accuracy on that thing aswell?

I un-screwed the front thinking there would be threads for one.. but nope. The entire glass piece popped out with it... And it's an authentic Bushnell!! Quote:

I'm not sure what I'm gonna do... I may get a wood stock made.. then stain it with an OD stain... A local guy had that idea for his VSR-10... And I wanna steal that idea :P Last edited by Amos; November 6th, 2008 at 15:50.. |

Will the receiver be straight from x-fire? Or do you have to get it imported?
-I love that fluted barrel by the way, trying to decide what to do with my barrel right now.

... You have a well. If you put PDI parts on it I'll burst out laughing... Just for the basic bull barrel setup you need to shell out over 200 bucks. |

Looks like that Guitar Hero box has seen better days.
It looks good though man, the barrel suits it nicely. Have you test fired it since you added in the tightbore? |

I haven't got to range it, but rested I'm able to hit the same letter on the box time after time from 20 feet. Lol I know that's not much... But hopefully if the weather is a bit nicer I'll be able to see what my max range is on sunday.

Absolutely disgusting... haha, just joking, figured since you always rag on others you needed some criticism as well. How's the pull on the bolt to set the sears in place with you running such a tight spring? I had one a while back and I could almost not pull it back while laying prone.

I'm trying to find the Laylax offset bolt handle right now though, It's supposed to be awesome and help eliminate alot of the bolt pull struggles. Once I get a PDI spring in there it should be much easier. My setup is gonna be nuts.. There's gonna be 12 barrel spacers in there to reduce vibrations lol And Gabe, You really shouldn't bother doing that... If anything I would use a JG BAR-10 as a base... The WELL one is awful.. I for see MANY tolerance issues in your future. |

Alright, I'll check out the BAR-10, thanks . And 12 barrel spacers? That's a bit over the top :P Good idea though. How does the bull barrel look? On PDI's website the seam lines where the front barrel and the barrel base connect always seemed to be really noticeable.

the 12 barrel spacers was actually a suggestion from my buddy in Japan, the reasoning is, when the spring is released is sends a vibration down the barrel... with all those barrel spacers.. It'll hold it all steady. I'm sure I wont even notice the difference... But this is my main airsoft gun.. So I like to treat it nicely :P |
