1911 pics
Almost done, just waiting to get some engraving done. And if anyone knows what Recoil Spring Guide will fit a WE1911, that would be helpful.

Thanks.
The finsh was done with 180 grit sandpaper and a wire brush with a dremel tool to remove the paint. then I wet sand it with 320 and 600 grit sandpaper, and polish with number 6 cleaning & polishing compound from canadian tire. |

Nice job!
As for the recoil spring guide it just sits in there loosely, so there's a few options. I managed to use a WA and RS part, and Marui ones should work too (as long they aren't the full length variants). Personally I kept the stock one, chopped off ~3-5mm from the tip and rounded it off with a dremel (grinder), sanded, polished; keeps the guide from breaking the recoil spring plug and bushing.

how is the finish holding up? I imagine that is some sort of pot-metal which will tarnish over time?

yes It does tarnish pretty quick.
when it does I clean it with bluemagic metal polish. |
