Goggle & Glasses Compatability
hey, im wanting to ditch my paintball mask for just a set of goggles, BUT.. i wear glasses
so i guess im asking 2 or 3 questions here. how do airsoft goggles compare to motocross goggles? what kind of goggles do you guys with glasses wear? and does anyone know about these x800/gx1000 goggles? if they fit over glasses? they look kinda small and i like them a lot but i dunno if theyd work with my glasses even though my glasses are pretty small. but at the same time i really like these red motocross goggles. i think theyd probly fit over glasses better and i like the touch of red that they would add to all my gear .....need help deciding and im pretty picky about my stuff so ive pretty much narrowed it down to these two. plus im not really looking to spend a lot on goggles as i dont think they need to be expensive to do their job. 20 bucks is about my limit x800 motocross goggles

I don't know much about Motocross, but I doubt their goggles are ballistic rated/tested... I use "ESS STRIKER Tactical THERMAL 'SC' Goggles" because they're supposedly able to stop a shotgun blast from 10 meters away, as well as a ".22 caliber military test"... I take care of my eye, and if I were you I would probably want to fork out a little extra cash to do so.

$20 is your limit to protect your eyes?
Wow. I have JT paintball goggles and they work with my glasses. |

I have the ESS Land Ops goggles
They are ballistic rated/tested and for use over prescription eyewear. They are pretty cheap too from that ebay seller

i know enough about motocross goggles to know theyre supposed to be able to protect your eyes from flying rocks and debris and i dont think bbs would be much different

Maybe the shit they sell at Walmart is crappy.
But JT is a very good brand. I got a full coverage helmet and goggles from a paintball shop and it was $50 or $60. Ah yes forgot about that. |

the main reason i dont wanna spend more than 20 is that well i already have the paintball mask that works just fine. if all else fails i can just keep on using it
i think id have better luck fitting the red motocross ones over my glasses. but still.... i really like the way those x800's are designed. like the lense is pretty thick and its away from the frame all the way around and i think thatd circulate air better than holes and foam

x800 will not work with your glasses.
There's always these questions with fitting og glasses and goggles. Best fits are JT goggles or ESS. |

I use ESS Land Ops goggles and they fit over my glasses fine. The ONLY problem I have is my glasses themselves fogging before my goggles do...

If you like the look of the x800 so much then buy the Bolle ones and get the patented Bolle-Sports RX Adapter for X800 series. Of course this option comes with a fair sizeable price tag, so I guess it doesnt appeal to you since your looking for cheap. However, the option is still there.

I use the ESS striker one's, i wish they were thinner and less bulky, but they protect my eyes + my glasses. Glasses are easily +$600 and my eyes priceless.
Would i use cheap $20 goggles? No, not even for a million dollars. |

well you guys get these goggles that can stop bullets and stuff and were not stopping bullets, were stopping bbs and they slow down and lose power the farther they fly
like do you ever wonder why you need a set of goggles that can stop a bullet at point blank range to stop a little plastic bb? specially when even those cheapo saftey glasses that come with some airsoft guns that i know from experience can stop at least 400 fps at point blank range if i get something cheap and it stops a 400 fps bb at point blank range then i feel confident that itll protect me from bbs at greater distances this ten dollar pair is designed for airsoft use or is at least being sold for it and was originally my first choice but the seller told me they would not work with glasses.
