Where to get an airsoft MG42??
A friend and myself recently acquired a nice SDKFZ 251 halftrack (actually, a Czech OT-810 modified to look like the 251) and it would obviously be very nice to have an airsoft MG42 or two to mount on the front and pack pintles! Any dealer in Canada has one for sale? Or an MG3... Or an Mg34? I tried to locate one but with no luck...

There was a guy at a local game recently with a scratch built MG-34, and I've heard about some companies making one version or another. But for something that size, expect to pay a good deal here in Canada if someone does indeed have one available.

Expect to pay a few thousand dollars, AND you have to get it imported specially.
I'd say >$3000 |

That would indeed be the one I was referring to. The time, effort and attention to detail that was put into that particular MG were more impressive than the gun itself. That being said, if you and your buddy managed to track down a half-track, I'd like to think that an airsoft MG would be within your reach if not well within.

I know that Shoei makes a gas powered blowback version of the Mg42 and that it retails in the US for 1800$... BUT it must have an external gas source... I'd like an electric version if available for dismouted use... My only other alternatives to an expensive Airsoft Mg-42 are an expensive DEWAT Mg-42 (no fun at all since it does not shoot anything!) or an expensive real semi-auto Mg34 (fun but loud and problematic in public)... So I'd prefer an airsoft...

It is easier to import an halftrack than it is to import an airsoft... We also have a Ferret and a few Iltis... :-)

The same guy at FR that had the MG also had with him a dewat FAL that had airsoft bits in it. If anyone has a way of IDing him or getting in contact with him, it may be worth it for building or modding tips.

If you get age verified, then I might sell you a Shoei MG42.

Hi Aquamarine, I have been age verified by Demon(Casey) from PDW in Sask. Canada. I am interested in a MG34 electric. Is anyone making these now? What would the cost be?

ooh, an iiltis!
good thing they're only plastic BB's flying at you or you'd be right buggered! you'd probably be better off trying to hunker down behind a can of tomato soup for cover if they were real bullets. The soup can would give you more armor protection... |

Flea-ish... I never claimed the Iltis was armoured in any way. It is an open top jeep with canvas roof and doors... But it is a military vehicle and a neat little one at that! We used one in a game and it was quite fun running it in the woods with 5 guys blazing away! Of course, it is a "bullet magnet" and it is pretty much impossible to hit anything when you are bouncing around in the back!

Yeah, it must be a great time blazing around in that! Are they cheap now?
