Exclamation VSR Hop-up

Alright, so I am in the middle of my TM VSR-10 project and I just got some new parts in today. I got my Bushnell Scope, Prothemus 6.03 tightbore and a nine ball hopup rubber.
So I dissassmbled the hopup unit to exchange the stock rubber for the nineball. Upon installing it onto the tightbore and setting it into half of the chamber, I realized that I couldn't fit on the other half, it seems that the inner lip on the rubber is quite high, thus preventing it from closing. You can see the end thats on the barrel is quite high in this photo:
Any suggestions to fix this will be appreciated, has anyone else encountered this?

I can already tell from looking at the picture: They sent you the wrong barrel. I don't mean the retailer either. When I purchased my Prometheus barrel I received a 430mm barrel with VSR-10 markings on it. Closer inspection revealed that the cuts in the sides of the barrel that are intended to keep the barrel in one place were in the wrong location. If you dealt with a decent retailer they should take it back with no problems. I was stuck with mine so I was forced to modify the barrel in order to get things to work properly. I've had that same AEG barrel in my VSR for two years now with no problems at all.

Ya, you know I've been tinkering with it for the past hour and just realized that. I trimmed that outter lip of the rubber that goes into the groove of actual VSR barrels but its still tight.
What exactly did you do to yours?

It's hard to explain without pictures. Basically with hacksaw and dremel in hand I made the grooves and slots match those on my stock barrel. I;ll see if I have a picture of the barrel outside of the gun.

The Prometheus 430mm barrel is made for use with the PSS10 Air Seal Chamber, which allows usage of standard AEG barrels and hop up rubbers. In stock form, the VSR-10 and G Spec uses different barrel mount from standard AEGs.
