Hk416 with an M4 Body Modded to fit

Hello,
Heres my first serious body modification any comments or critiques would be greatly appreciated, except for flames

I got this gun for quite cheap to use as a loaner gun for any friend who wanted to tag along and come play the game to try it out.

Heres what it looked like when I first got it the gap between the body and rail really puts a bad taste in my mouth

After sticking a metal grounding bar to fill in the gap I then proceeded to bondo it flush. After one good sanding (I know I still have a bit left to do, this is what I ended up with )

I just need to finish up sanding the body to make it a little more flush and there you go. A Hk416 with an m4 body.

Heres it almost complete, just need to clear the rail of bondo, you can see the bondo in the following pictures with the Ecotech

Hope you enjoyed my progress

EDIT: Sorry I was a little harsh. But can you mount anything across it, or is it just for looks?

Still, that's not doing custom work... that's assembling parts and accessories together. Anyway some people need to learn to appreciate the effort it takes to come up with a custom fit like that.

I can put parts together as well
Heres my M4

I know it doesn't line up perfectly since the iron bar i found wasn't the perfect height. Its just to make it less noticeable

Thanks Brakoo

Nice Nova. Stick a Eotech in between the 2 upper rails and people won't even know theirs a little gap!

Good job! Keep up the good work! I had the same gap with my 416 and a standard M4 metal body... I decided to sell my body kit and keep my plastic body. LoL!

It doesn't have to be level, are there that many devices that mount between the body and the rail unit? It looks a lot better than before a nice optic at the top and most people probably wouldn't even notice.

Thought it was a nice mod too Nova316.

Thanks everyone, Im definitely gonna mount an optic before the gap im thinking of either a Ecotech or an Acog depending on which one fits. With the Ecotech the gap isnt even noticable. I hope its the same for an ACOG.. Just painted it.. will post pictures soon with a borrowed Ecotech from a friend

For me, Id would slap a rail riser on the top of the reciever, it should bring the rail up to being flush with the front end, and I think there would be enough room left towards the rear to have the rear sight still.

Tango down style grip for 416 style look.
Now Im not saying it looks bad, but will that be the final stock on there as well? Personally Id like to see a 417 style or maybe a full stock.
Aside from that, looks good, props on the build

Ooh! Maybe color in the trades with red and white crayon for that HK feel!

I think it looks pretty good. Not quite the true HK416 look but still quite passable. Nice job making it fit Oliver.

Good work bud. Takes good initiative and guts to throw caution to the wind and do a, basically, non-reversible mod to your rifle. Looks like you put a lot of time and effort into it.

Just my opinion, but anyone who dumps sh*t on it can take a long walk off of a short pier.
