Any recommendations for boots?

Hello, everyone!

I'm going to be in the market very soon for a good, inexpensive pair of boots to play in. I'm looking for something roughly between $100-$120 and I've tried looking online for reviews for various combat boot manufacturers but, alas, I haven't had that much luck in finding them.

I'm expecting to play occasionally during the summer and am looking for something that has very good ankle support, keeps the feet cool and possibly water proof (I say posibly waterproof because I've been looking at desert boots as well). I've read a couple of the reviews on this site, while they are helpful, I'd like to get further input. For example, I've been eyeing the Altama EXOSpeed Desert boots or the Bates USMC Temperate Weather Boot. What do you guys recommend? Are there any helpful hints or any advice that you guys can give when trying to pick a good combat boot?

When buying boots don't buy used. Also buy something from a reliable company, not come Chinese knock off.

My personal preferances for a hot/warm weather boot is either the Jungle Boot or Desert Boot(only wear these when I know the area is dry, an theres no streams, etc otherwise I'd go with jungle boots)

Companies I've used and am happy with are Belleville and Altama. Not sure of who made my other jungle boots, might have been welco but I've heard their quality is slipping now.

Magnum Stealths aren't too bad either, but because the sole is so soft I've come pretty close to rolling my ankle pretty good so I tend to just use these boots for FIBUA and Garrison.

All of the above mentioned boots are affordable. But I dunno how much Bellevilles cost on the civvie market since I bought mine at the US PX in KAF.

I'm not a fan of goretex/waterproof/resistant boots in the summer. Since they can be pretty warm. If you are running around an crossing streams or whatever, jungle boots are my personal preferance since they have drainage holes an let the water drain out an the boots dry off pretty quickly.

Oh yea, make sure you break any whatever pair of boots when you get them an don't run around the field in brand new stiff boots. Desert boots an the magnums break in pretty damn fast, but jungle boots take a bit of work.

And make sure you get a pair that fits, if its too tight or loose your feet will pay for it. And don't wear cotton socks, once they get wet from sweat an/or water they will chew your feet up.

Why not just good old Mark IIIs? They got great ankle support, water doesn't get in them easy(if it does, then it'll be there for a while) and they last forever.

I also use Magnums while usually in garrison, but I did use them for section attacks in the field, almost rolled the ankle a couple times but the "running shoe" comfort while sprinting during section attacks outweighs the risk.

For jungle boots get some of the cushy running shoe insoles, they help make the stiff soles bearable. I can't say enough about having a good pair of boots!

Belleville are what I wear at work. Got the 220 Safety Toes and they're lighter than issue CF boots, lol. Cost me about 125.00 from LA Police Gear after shipping and all that junk.

They don't make jungle boots, but they do make hot weather boots.

Give your head a shake and don't post useless shit. The thread originator wants a good pair of boots for running around in, not that goth wannabe BS boots you posted just to show off an brag that you got two pairs.

I own a pair of the Altama EXOSpeed Desert boots and absolutely love them. Now keep in mind these are not waterproof in anyway, to get around that I purchased some good gortex shell socks. I find these boots to have great ankle support (I have flat feet, so ankle support is a must), also these boots are super light weight. I have no problem moving around quickly and quietly with these boots.

Yea but I find 5.11 are expensive as fuck. I say go with SWATs or Magnums. I usually play in my SWAT deserts boots as they're light, comfy and don't make your feet sweat. Jungle boots are nice but I find they don't have as much support.

Shitty ones don't. Good ones do.

The difference between them is if they have a support band that actually works. I've tried on several pairs, ranging from Rothco (AVOID AT ALL COSTS) to Welco. I like Welco the best, they offer some nice ankle support. But you have to buy new, or else you might not get the full support you need
