Plastic KSC G19 to Metal Glock 19
Hello,
I just received my "Glock 19" Metal Slide from Redwolf today! Installation was a breeze except for the rear sight! How do I remove the rear sight from my old plastic G19 body without using a knife or tearing up the plastic? Also I am curious if anybody has used the "G&G Metal Outer Barrel with CW Silencer Adaptor for KSC G19". I have heard that silencer adapter to the barrel loosens when fired, and also it can have cycling problems. Any truth to that? Thanks guys! |

The rear sight is a dovetail sight I believe, it just needs to be slide out. Though on the plastic it could've been quite tight.
Alternatively you can get Proud's night sight for it. Its 3 dot tritium-style, and can be had in metal. The G&G barrel do have cycling issue, I can have mine on(when I had the KSC G19) for display but it wouldn't shoot properly with it....The problem with the thread adaptor is that it has a CW thread from the adaptor into the barrel, and a CCW thread(mine anyhow) to the silencer. Therefore you can never tighten it fully....(tighten one loosen the other) |

Thanks for the info RacingManiac! The plastic is super tight (I really hope not glued tho!)
What would you suggest if I wanted to add a silencer to the G19, and still be able to use it in the field? |

Alternatively maybe you can use a longer inner barrel and use something that clamps onto the inner barrel and mount the silencer on that. I am not sure if there are such thing available for KSC/KWA though, |

There aren't too many silencer attachments for the KSC G19. Oh and the stock sight should come off with the firm tap against the table.

table... or a few precise blows from a hammer (must have hit it over 5 times just to get it to budge about 1mm)
But alas it is off and on the Metal Body! But another problem has come to mind. The two springs (refer to the g19 or g17 isometric diagram, it is the two springs labeled #23, or the ones that slide into the nozzle thingy). The problem happened after emptying out 3 magazines on a target. The frame stopped cycling properly, and would get stuck halfway though its cycle. So I took it apart to see what was trying my patients, and both springs were deformed. So I replaced them, and layed down some covering fire on a pop can, and same thing happened again. So after another take down, 1 of the new springs were deformed (rather mangled actually). So I have no idea what is going on! (My g19 has only been upgraded with a metal frame and a heavier blowback spring) Any ideas would be great!! |

When reseating the blowback chamber inside the slide, your need to make absolutely sure that the chamber springs are not being crushed. They need to be fully seated into the chamber block, as sometimes they protrude out, thus they can become bent if you push the blowback chamber in. It helps to reseat the blowback chamber by using a screwdriver and pressing the springs from the view of the ejection port into place while sliding the chamber back into the slide. I've destroyed my fair share of springs by not sliding the chamber block back in when the springs weren't seated all the way in.

Hahaha!
Thanks WhatTheWho! That makes perfect sense now. Now as I look closer at it, when I re-seat the blow back chamber, and if i am not careful, they do get caught up on the frame (and then mangled!). I think i need to order some more springs from Redwolf... but now I know! :P |

I've been able to springs plenty of times by themselves. They are usually out of stock for most retailers, but it's possible.

Meh, until end being a whopping $10, if even. That's nothing.

Hey DSFD506,
What type of shop to you go to get those springs? was it an airsoft shop, or was it some sort of industrial/fabrication metal shop? |
