SRC M4 Takedown

Hi, I just cant figure out how to takedown my SRC M4. Ive searched but there isnt munch information on SRC. So here are some pictures. Click them to make them bigger.

i believe you have to remove the body pins. the one just behind the selector switch, and the other underneath the foregrip ring(?) or better yet, just underneath the upper receiver. again, this is all from reading, i dont own one, but i believe that is how you are supposed to do it.

Ive dont that and It doesnt open. There has to be something else to do.

Do I have to remove my buttstock to do this?

You have to unscrew the front and rear pins... use some force on the upper to get it free
remove the stock bolt and stock
Unscrew the plate under the grip; remove the motor and unscrew the grip.
Remove the center pin and mag release. et voila you have a taken down v2 mechbox

I think im talking about something different than you. I am talking about just splitting the upper and lower parts of the gun. Im not upgrading or anything. I just dont know how to get it so im trying to figure it out now for future references

You just have to unscrew the front and rear pin then and remove them. Use some force to lift the upper receiver. Thats all.

just a warning though, i hear there is a risk of breaking those tabs, so if your just taking it apart for looks, maybe wait till it needs repairs, thats only from what ive heard thought. my classic army just slides forward, so i dont have to worry about the tabs

I took the pins out and would I be able to give oo much force because I dont want any damage

ahhhh ok...well then this is a whole new animal. You have to basically take everything off to get at the Mechbox. Start at the front and remove the hand guards and barrel. Now go to the back and remove the butt stock. next take the pistol grip off. Now pull the upper up and away from the lower while pulling the cocking handle back to clear the top of the mechbox. Don't forget the mechbox center pin.
