Kydex or Safariland for USP

Hi, I’m buying a ksc usp soon and I was wondering which holster I should get?
Safariland or Kydex. Eventually I wish to have a rail adaptor and m6 on it so I want the one that can accommodate a light. Do you know if either of these holsters will fit a ksc usp or are the dimensions off and which one you would choose over the other.

holsters that can accomodate lights/lasers are tricky to find.
but out of the two you mentioned id say safariland, i had a nice safariland holster for about 4-5 months, never failed me.

keep in mind that safariland has been bought out by a uk company not too long ago so availability might be low

I looked into it a little, and nothing really jumped out at me in favour of either or. Both are available to accomodate lights. Safariland puts a somewhat bigger hole in your wallet.

I've seen plenty of Safarilands, but very few Kydex and none in leg drop config. However, there are leg drop Kydex holsters. In fact, Blade Tech has a very that seem to be meant for direct competition with Safariland. It's got a slightly quicker release mechanism than Safariland, take a look at BT's website for a demo.

Safariland all the way. I have one for my Sig and works great with and without the light attached.

what should be noted is that both brand names enable you to have firm grip on your weapon BEFORE it is unholstered. so when switching from your primary to your secondary you are at least 3-5 seconds faster at unholstering/drawing against an opponent with a standard cordura holster. in this case i believe its the buyers preference on brands.

i have a ksc usp. when i researched this topic, i found that there are rteally only 2 choices. blackhawk or safariland. i heard that blackhawk had a faster draw rate, but could scratch the gun (plastic liner), and allowed dirt to get into the gun area(if you are a crawler, there is less coverage) as for safariland, there is much more protection on the gun, the thumb break is solid(no gun can be lost here) and the case offered more coverage, and the inside is lined with some felt material.

in the end i went with safariland. so far, i'm loving it. pistol draws are as quick as i need them to be, and the holster never sags, or moves. yes they are more costly, but IMO, it was worth it. i'm a shorter person, so i only use one of the leg straps, but don't forget to get a good belt. i was using a Gstar army type belt, and it kept sagging, and folding over, since i got my eagle and 5.11, there has been no issues, and total comfort.

Blackhawk also has the SERPA, which I own and use alot. A fine holster. That being said, I am also a devoted Safariland owner as well. You really can't go wrong with any high-end holster. If you had to narrow it down, I'd suggest Safariland for their 6004/6005 series, and then the next best option could be your SERPA drop leg assembly. Both mold holsters for the USP.

If you are a crawler, avoid the Serpa, as there have been instances where sand and dirt have jammed the mechanism and forced the owner of the weapon to cut the holster off.

The Safariland site can tell you absolutely everything you need to know about what model fits with what type of flashlight, laser, etc.

Isn't a KSC USP a close 1/1 scale replica of the real version? My airsoft Glock fits fine in my Safariland that I use for my real one. The same goes for the 1911 series, Beretta series, and in your case, the HK series pistols. Any airsoft GBB pistol I've ever hefted fit fine in any Safariland holster I bought for it. I've owned an MK23, a 1911, a Beretta 92F, and both the Glock 18 AEP and TM 17 GBB. I've owned Safariland 6004s for all of them. They've always fit fine.

So I read your post as carefully as I needed to. If you're looking for solid advice, I'd suggest you take the feedback when you can get it, and abandon comments that take away from your credibility.

Good luck on your hunt for a holster.
