i have one of these and i love it. i dont have the patience to weave my own ghillie suit and wanted one for the look. i bought the model with the long coat and gators: http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=20444
the gators suck...there is velcro that is supposed to hold it around your knee area and another set that tightens it around your ankle. even with both of them tightened, i still managed to have one fall off my leg completely while running. i like the length of the long coat but i would definitely stick with the pants. aside from that, where are you getting it from? ive been looking for a place where i can purchase the pants standalone, but its been pretty hard to find a retailer that has them in stock. for the price though, you really cant go wrong with this system. |

Velcro is the last thing one wants on a ghillie. Ghillie's snag often on branches and such, and when trying to be steathy it will really suck to crawl forward a foot of ground only to hear a loud RIIIIIIIIIIIIIP behind you!

thus...go with the pants version man! the jacket and hood are closed and attached with buttons and there is no velcro on it at all.

id use it for a base and do some heave alterations most store bought suits are excrement wrapped in burlap. but it is better than some out there. ditch the velcro for sure

again...there is NO velcro on the jacket and only a very small strip on the pants. this suit doesnt use burlap...it uses some kind of polyester that doesnt absorb water and doesnt rustle when you move. i think it would definitely be a good means of starting your own suit but like i said earlier...i dont have the patience to do so haha

If it got strands attached to the front, it will make crawling difficul or near impossible. I'd avoid any ghilly that does not have the front part cleared and renforced.
The ghillie in picture is more suitable for bow hunters than snipers.

Not even suitable for bow hunters, first shot would tear the bow support arm off. Lol

Quick change in subject (sorry natzkali): I finished tying my ghillie suit together a while back with the intention of attacking it to a set a bdus. Do you guys have any suggestions as to what the best way of doing that is? I was thinking using velcro and laying the strips through the ghillie mesh.
