please help before i drop $500.00
im about to do a C7A2 Conversion but im actually very hesitant about one thing, the battery. right now i got a 8.6 4200 MAH running in the stock of my M15A4 but with the conversion im doing, im going to be putting the battery in the handguard. i can only get a double mini battery setup in the handguar running a 9.6 2000 MAH - 2200 MAH. here is my question, will i see a significant loss in power, speed, battery life by doing this? i am obviusly expecting a shorter run time but i really dont wnt to risk looseing my rate of fire i already have as well as the solid durability of the current battery. ....... basicly. will there be any diffrence?
Thx guys Cranberry Last edited by cranberry; February 14th, 2008 at 09:05.. |

Oh we do hate you, just never felt like wasting the time to give you a user title :P

ROF should increse with a higher voltage I think and yes it will not last as long think of MaH as run time more MaH is more run time.

ok, well the games i play last about 4-8 hours (outdoor) i fire an average of about 2000-4000 shots a game. will the mini hold up through that game? or am i going to require a 2ndary to throw in the middle of game play?
Thx |

Just get a second battery anyway so if anything happens you always have a backup.

You'll never fit such a large battery (or much of a battery for that matter) into the C7A2 stock, as it's a standard retractable stock. If you put a Crane style in you could fit a bigger battery in, but it wouldn't look like a C7A2.

Before I switched my wiring to the rear in my M4, I had a 9.6v 1700 mAH nunchuck battery in the foregrip. It had an insane rate of fire compared to the 8.4v 600 mAH battery that it came with. Your biggest problem is rewiring your gear box for the wires come out the front.

I have a 9.6V 1800 mAh battery in my C8A2. That, along with a Prometheus MS110SP spring gets me about 360 fps and excellent rof. Battery voltage won't affect your power in any way. It will only affect rof and capacity.
And if your M15 is stock, you should be good to get at least 2000 rounds out of that 2000 mAh battery. A stiffer spring will decrease that slightly.

Danny, Go to Prairie battery and get them to custom make you one.
There's enough room in the hand guards for a double-nunchuk AK style battery, If you use high quality wiring, deans connectors and get your motor balanced, and use your good charger you should be completely fine for the game. |

Use the smaller battery in the handguard, you can switch to 9.6v if you have a fairly stiff spring, but also consider switching out your connectors for Deans and adding a MOSFET. Even a very basic one will improve your energy performance. Then worst case, you just need to carry a spare battery if you do a lot of shooting (i.e., hicap hosing)
