PDI 6.01mm Tightbores??
Hey guys, just found these at Redwolf
http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=23474 PDI 6.01mm barrels, and since it's from Redwolf, we can actually get it unlike DB Custom. Anyone tried it? the price kind of does tell me about its quality though... Thanks Last edited by Skladfin; January 13th, 2008 at 15:04.. |

i don't think that link is correct... it merely shows two new products which have nothing to do with 6.01mm inner barrels...

yeah you have to click on precision barrels from there. It did me the same way. I would hope those are worth the money spent.

i was always told to stay away from .01 barrels cause of jams and stuff. i was told just to get a .03 prometheus. does the .02 make that much of a difference?

But good god, $150 for a metal pipe? Not in this lifetime for me, thanks.

But it comes with a fancy metal case!
Yeah, I wouldn't pay $150 for an inner barrel. My max would be HALF that much. |

if you like quality, this is it. it's ranked in the top2 over at arnies, in terms of quality, next to ipsc. i have one and think it is great. i've had no issues with it jamming, just make sure u get the right barrel spacers. and just order it direct
www.x-fire.org the6.01 have a new design, i was told that it's 6.01 at the hop, and starts to widen somewhere down the barrel. |

One thing that's annoyed me is the old wives tales of tightbores jamming. Yes, using shitty ammo or not cleaning the barrel for a long time might cause it to jam, but in a few cases I've heard guys that hadn't gotten out to a game in six months, no maintainance on the AEG, complaining about BBs not feeding, only to hear "Well, you wanted a tightbore, deal with it". Then I grab the gun, get the BBs from out of the hop up rubber, drop or two of oil, back up and running instantly. One thing to consider is BB size, they are never 6mm, the best quality ones are about 5.96-5.97mm in diameter, so with a 6.01mm barrel you'd still have about 0.04-0.05mm gap between the barrel wall and the BB surface, enough to pass a BB under most circumstances.
As far as 6.01mm goes, I'd like one for my M24, but not for $150. I currently have a Prometheus 6.03mm and love it, might try out one of those 6.02mm at some point since the price is decent (I think it's either Deep Fire or Modify that makes it). I have had a 6.01 and it ran fine.. did jam on a shitty bag of .25's but even then it was only 3 times..

Am sure the difference will be almost impossible to tell. Since i can get a 6.02mm cheaper than the 6.03, I want to get one to try out in my M24 and see if there is anything noticable about it.

I have a PDI 6.01 in my M14 and use KSC .3s in it. I shoot semi-only and have never had a jam. I notice that I get more "wingers" with the 6.01 over my Prom 6.03.. I imagine that has to do with partial jams but they are fairly few and far between. Accuracy is marginally better then the Prom 6.03. Not really worth the extra bucks in my opinion. I also run a PDI in my VSR10 and have had no problems but I use .29 SGMs in that. Accuracy is the best out of all the barrels Ive tried in the VSR10.. and Ive tried quite a few.

would a normal AEG inner barrel work with the VSR 10?
