Multicam Fabric comparison
Sorry if this thread has been done before. Having recently received Huang's MC, and UR-Tactical's Ops Crye gear, I thought I'd put up some pics for people to compare.
Huang's MC: Multisham UR-Tactical: multicamguy2 Ops Crye (real CP material) Tactical Performance Japan from Phantom Web (real CP material) Here are the photos (L -> R) Huang's, Ops Crye, TP JP :- http://www.anakchan.com/gallery/Hobb...2_enterAlbum=0 Full shot :- http://www.anakchan.com/gallery/Hobb...2_enterAlbum=0 Closeup of Huang's :- http://www.anakchan.com/gallery/Hobb...2_enterAlbum=0 http://www.anakchan.com/gallery/Hobb...2_enterAlbum=0 Closeup of Ur-Tactical :- http://www.anakchan.com/gallery/Hobb...2_enterAlbum=0 http://www.anakchan.com/gallery/Hobb...2_enterAlbum=0 Closeup of Tactical Performance JP :- http://www.anakchan.com/gallery/Hobb...2_enterAlbum=0 http://www.anakchan.com/gallery/Hobb...2_enterAlbum=0 Huang's Combat Shirt vs Real Crye (Left: Huang's, Right: Crye Precision) :- http://www.anakchan.com/gallery/Hobb...2_enterAlbum=0 http://www.anakchan.com/gallery/Hobb...V0508.JPG.html http://www.anakchan.com/gallery/Hobb...V0511.JPG.html P.S. TP pants and CP combat shirt looks wrinkled 'cos I've used it and washed it once. Apologies Last edited by AnakChan; January 7th, 2008 at 21:10.. |

How is the quality of the ur tactical stuff?

Quick summary:
Personally I think Huang's Multisham is a pretty good repro especially in comparison to the other multishams you can find around in Tokyo (even in comparison to UFC's or Laylax's Ghost Gear). You can see the differences but got to look carefully. The pad colouring is very close to the real Crye Precision too. The only difference is that the finish (thread holes) aren't very neatly done, and the actual black pad backing is smaller and not as thick. I've not tested durability. But let's just say that for my real CP combat shirt, the seams started to break after one wear. So much for real CP anyway. A little more on the combat shirt material comparison, Huang's MC material seems to be thicker than real CP. So if you're looking at playing/trashing my gear and still want to look realistic at 10 feet away, Huang's MC gear is great. |

Not skirmished it, but looking at the quality, it's brilliant. To be honest, I think I prefer the UR-Tactical to even real CP esp from design. I like the the M4 mag horizontal pockets and I think the grilled knee pads look really mean.
True it hasn't got a waste management zipper, but unless I'm "going commando" :fro:, I doubt if I'd be using that zipper anyway. Durability: will tell you more after I've skirmished it. |

Huangs stuff looks like its a good choice
The stitching does not look as good as it is on the Ur-Tactical but still doesnt look that bad for $200 |

Dang, now I have to decide whether or not I should save for a month or so and get the ur/OPS stuff or huangs.

I have the Ur-Tactical, only because when Huang originally posted sizes my waste was a tad to large. The Ops pants are very comfortable, and even though they don't have the waste zipper its not a big deal, or they way I look at one less thing to possibly fail when you want it too the least.

My opinion, if you want an outfit that's a good camo, practical use, and don't care about real MC or not, Huang's the best repro I've physically seen to date - not to mention the best price I've ever come across for repro too (I was part of the pre-Dec purchase batch and got the ASC discount). OTOH, if you do care about real MC fabric, then ur/OPS is the best value in comparison to EbayBanned's and the unobtainable CP combat pants. And of course if you did play night games with NVG, you'd get real MC value. I'm probably gonna be killed by some members , but in my circle, there's a certain level of snobbery on multicam vs. multisham (and grades of multisham). (Unfortunately?) airsoft is as much a fashion as it is a game. But again, that's just my circle. |

DeathKillercobb reminded me of one thing! I've (obviously) not washed Huang's gear since I just got it yesterday. I don't know if it fades. My colleagues here who have owned multisham from other sellers (and therefore different manufacturers?) say that theirs fade after washing.
That's something that would need to be tested in the future. |

Mine will be dry cleaned only... I wont give them a chance to fade in the washer. Just hope I dont hit any big mud patches.
