Airsoft for use in sketch comedy - need to reduce fps < 100

I've been recently reintroduced to Airsoft after last owning a spring Colt Government replica that I bought in Japan circa 1991 (nearly got suspended from high school for bringing it to class). I am amazed at all the AEG, AEPs and EBBs now available at an affordable price! I am even more amazed at the community that embraces this hobby/sport.

I am entertaining the idea of using Airsoft in skits and sketch comedy so that the performers can shoot each other with 0.12 BBs and react to the hits (since they perform pretty much ad lib). I need the realism of Airsoft pistols (not clearsoft) but need to add a degree of safety as they will not be wearing gear.

Can you guys comment on my options? I'm assuming GBB start pretty high so I should avoid these.
1. Buy small spring pistols (~140fps) though they are cheap-looking and unreliable
2. Buy EBB and downgrade the spring (how low will it get?)
3. Buy EBB and use a TM velocity reducer (does the reducer even fit pistols?)
4. Attach a modded silencer that could possibly slow down the BB (maybe introduce air leaks within it or minor obstructions?)

Also, is there such thing as CLEAR BBs?

Thanks,
Ray

p.s. My apologies to players/enthusiasts who feel Airsoft should be used nothing less than in gaming.

Well for 1 you could just use some Krylon on them, my brother has a clear pistol that he spaypainted (or whatever you call it) with that stuff and it looks pretty cool.

I would not recommend this at all.

Acting is acting, your actors may peform the hits accordingly with out the use of airsoft. Shooting at another person with an airsoft gun who is not wearing anyform of eye protection is not recommended at all, regardless what FPS the item used is at.

A well painted cap gun is what you may want to look into.

You are not the first to come here stating that they seek airsoft for some form of dramatical production.

FYI most EBBs shoot quite a low fps as is, I think about 110fps with .2gs? Perhaps cut off a coil off the spring...

most german airsoft guns have less then 0.5 joule of energy. (to make em legally FA here. All ASGs above 0.5joule are considered weapons and FA weapons in germany arnt allowed to civilians).

to make them less then 0.5 joule they simply bore up the nozzle.

Use cap guns, or better yet, your fingers in the shape of a gun, especially if you are in a public setting, even more so if at a school.

Public shootings are a very real concern, and emulating them is a very, very bad idea...

Considering he said he was in high school in 1991, I doubt the threadstarter is going to be bringing guns to school.

I don't think the idea of actually shooting BBs is a good idea. However, some of those cheap EBB pistols from Walmart dry-fired would have the same effect for stage props. I bought a Beretta EBB clearsoft gun for my son, and I painted it over. It's a piece of crap performance-wise, but it would serve the purpose for stage use.

I agree with the cap gun idea. If you buy a good cap gun, you can actually modify it to fire airsoft BBs at a decent velocity by drilling out the front plug and ramming the BBs in the revolving cylinder. This will however eventually damage your gun and the accuracy is shit.

Also, since BB's will bounce off the actor there is a chance you will hit anyone observing.

Remember actors will act, using projectiles means they actually need to hit, not just point the weapon near the target. They also need to act shot instead of saying "ow" when they get stung.

I can't really see the up-side to it.

You have GOT to be kidding, right? That is an extremely illegal suggestion. The fact that Dontask condoned it is not much brighter.

lol doesn't matter though because the cap usually melts the bb into the plasic chamber or even if it is fired out it goes ridiculously slow as I remember
