A&K M249 easy mods
When I first bought this rifle, I thought I was screwed because of the trigger switch failure out of the box. Quite the contrare mofrare. First off, I like the para model, but not the collapsing stock, so I bought the full version. Glad I did. Aside from using my 11.1 15c 4000 mah li-poly batt. in the rear stock, I found that the front outer barrel srews off easily and the threads next to the front sight post are 14mm cc! This meant I could take my madbull tb out of my ca36 and put it in the m249 w/ my noveske pig flamer flashider. The spring can be changed in 1-2 minutes. The trigger switch can be changed w/o opening the gearbox. The m249 (A&K) is the easiest rifle in the mix I have to work on or modify. The second being my CAg3. I've already painted the funky silver front sight block black. Loctited all screws .I highly recommend you check the screws on this model as most of the screws on this one were loose. I also tweaked the mag-well so my m4 mags would fit snugly. Better feed characteristics. Had to slightly modify my G&P 450 rd. mags so they would lock in properly. Oh, the extra barrel lenghth left over fom the m249, is now useful for a barrel extension on my ca36. I still have other mods planned. Don't be afraid to check this rifle out. The furniture is not as nice as ca furniture, but good enough w/ a little truck bed liner spray coat. I have a ca saw stock for my g3 project, and it seems to be made of a better type of plastic.

So what your saying is the A&K 249 is a copy of the CA249?
If your able to tell, hows the quality of the metal? |

The metal around the gearbox or the reciever, is stamped steel- albeit, it's what I would consider soft. The outer barrel, sight block are heavy aluminum. Bi-pod is stamped steel. Thundercactus- I've never held or had a CA249 for comparison, just thr rear stock. I'm actually surprised about the A&K M249 considering it's price. Also, Thundercactus, on a diffrent subject I noticed in a post of yours what appeared to be a g36 w/ a cool front stock. I thought it was mentioned to be a surefire. I can't find the thread anymore. Could you please let me know where you got it from? If I'm mistaken, please disregard.

I owned a G36K a while back but I never made any mods to it, was it perhaps my HK11E?

That might have been it. The fore stock sorta looked like a sig forearm to me. I couldn't find a pic of your rifle in the gallery. I saw it on a thread I can't remember where though. I looked through your old posts and couldn't find what I was talking about. Nice g11 by the way.

This is my HK11E, it's also the gun I'm holding in my banner pic If your wondering why it looks like a different handguard on the banner, it's because the picture is inverted |

Sorry, type-o. I just finished my custom saw butt-stock to g3 mod. Head is still loopy from welding the plastic stocks together and rubber coating the furniture. Turned out quite nice, if only I could figure out how to post pics.

Here.
1) Have the pictures in a decent format a) .jpeg for normal photos with lots of color variety b) .png for highest quality BUT with compression (bmps but smaller) 2) Go to an image hosting site. I personally use www.imageshack.us . 3) Take the link from the "Hotlink for forums 1" and put it in your post. 4) **Optional** Press back on your browser and repeat step 3 5) Hit Post Reply Here is an example: So cute i could eat it. |
