SystemA CQB-R PTW

Finally got my flash hider in from airsoftparts.ca so I could take some pics of the almost finished gun. I am getting the HurricanE 553 on Monday/Tuesday from redwolf to replace the 552 currently on it. That will hopefully leave enough room to put the flip up rear sight behind the 553 instead of on the foregrip where it is now (really weird place IMO and not nearly as effective.)

Parts:
-SystemA PTW MAX CQB-R challenge kit
-G&P RAS II
-Madbull KX3 flash hider
-King Arms flip up rear sight
-Magpul enhanced trigger guard
-Magpul ranger floor plate
-G&P taclight (not shown but spot on rail exposed to allow it to be mounted)

Picture before paint job:

Up next is to order a MAX M16A3, solder the circuit board to disable full auto and then get the parts to make it into a Mk.12 Mod 0. Run M130 cylinder full time, M150 when allowed.

You can't call it exactly a Mk. 18 Mod 0 since it does not look anything like the real one.

Yeah, so do I actually, but a PTW is quite a bit different sounding (and a little louder) than your run of the mill AEG. I bought the KX3 flash hider to make it as loud as possible to scare the living crap out of people.

Will be using the KX3 tomorrow at the LZ and will decide which to keep and which to sell.

Its my impression of one. The G&P RAS II was easier to get than a real steel knights armament one (and cheaper), and as far as I know everything else on a Mk. 18 Mod 0 is rail adaptable (aimpoint, fixed rear sight, etc.) so could be swapped out.

thats dumb, its def not anything like a mk18.
why dont you call it not anything like a real Mk18 Mod 0

good advice:you should really move the eotech to the ras and the flip up to where it should be.

meh, would if I could but only mods can change thread titles. Threw that in as a spur of the moment thing, wasn't trying to build a Mk. 18 Mod 0 from the beginning, just thought it looked close enough like one to pass as one. If you too anal, just refer to it as a CQB-R, if you're still too anal for that, you can call it a PTW with 10.5" barrel. I care far more for functionality in games and price point then spending a lot more money to perfectly copy a real steel firearm to look uber l33t for photo ops with teammates.

Did that for one game, moved it down as it is now for looks, not use (put it where I want the 553 when it comes in since its shorter.) Will probably stick it up top for my game tomorrow as its harder to look through the lower 552 with my over glasses goggles (damn ESS taking forever to ship my ICE/RX adapter order!)

So, Lutnit, how exactly do you solder the circuit board to disable full auto, unless you mean disconnect the black selector wire?

You could always put a a block on the selector track to physically stop the selector from moving to the full position without altering the gun at all.

You finally received it! Congrats mate.

Why don't you paint the whole gun?

I think you'll be disappointed when you find out that the difference between the 552 and 553 in length is 0.400 inch. That's 1 rib and 1 groove on the rail.

I've thought about the block in the selector track. The soldering thing was posted by warchild7 in the doctor section, roughly the same place you need to solder for 3rnd burst/full auto. I was reading some horror stories from people who soldered their circuit board so was looking for mechanical ways.

I didn't paint the gun because I'm unsure on what pattern I want yet though I am definitely painting my SPR when I get it eventually. I think 1 rail of space will be enough to fit my rear sight, if not...I'll figure something out.

Shit, so much for 90% of my arsenal. All these years I've been stuck with reliability and performance, only to find out I'm not cool. Damn battery bags and tape!!!!

Oh wait, I only have two AEGs, two sniper rifles and a handful of GBBs. Make that my two AEGs that make me uncool. Actually, I seem to have doubles of each for reliability & familiarity's sake, so that should make me less cool. BTW, *****!!! Or SPLUGE!!!! Take your pick.
