I dont think everyone hates them, personally, i just don't like winding a magazine. It feels like im winding one of those toy robots that walks around, and it feels better when your out to pull your mag out, and put in a new one.

Coincidentally, we like realistic magazine capacities aswell as realistic load-outs...

Depends on what you want out of the game, realism, I have realcaps, but if I just don't feel like changing mags a lot I use a high cap once in a while, but not very often and it's usually a last resort.

Personally, I don't like hi-caps because it detracts from the 'realism' of airsoft. I like airsoft over paintball because my Classic Army M4 doesn't resemble a super soaker. I'd like it to look and function as realistically as airsoft would allow; including reloading.

Hi-cap rattling pisses every mil-sim player out there. I'd imagine non mil-sim players would also be a little ... turned off by this?

Hi-caps make load-bearing vests kinda redundant. 1 M4 hi-cap = 300rds. Most vets/rigs have 3 pockets. So thats around 900 BBs (double that if the pockets are larger). I don't know how you guys play but I rarely use up even 300 rounds in half a day of light skirmishing.

I only use hi-caps on my m249. The only other hi-caps I have came with the gun.

Having asserted my position on hi-caps, I don't neccessarily like real-caps either.

I think low-caps are the best. Low-caps usually have a little more than double the real guns capacity. Given the much lower accuraccy of airsoft guns, I think the additional payload is a reasonable comprimise. Low-caps are also more durable, less expensive (per unit ), don't rattle, and don't require winding.

Long live low-caps

If I could find some metal real-caps, I would be in love, but for the moment I'm stuck with low-caps & hi-caps. I have nothing against hi-caps except that you have to wind them.

They make alot of fracking noise too. Which is kinda lame if you're trying to be a ninja.

I'm a midcap kinda guy myself. The ones out nowadays are very reasonably priced, so it's not expensive to fill a vest with 8 or 10 mags. That's about 1000 rounds, which is more than enough for a full day (unless you're an LMG gunner). For a smaller or more tactical game, alls you gots to do is load them with 30 rounds and they're just as good as realcaps.

That being said, my first few mags were hicaps just because it was cheaper, and I didn't need to have an LBV. For new guys or somebody on a budget, hicaps are a good way to increase carrying capacity. The single 70-rd mag you got with that AK47-S isn't gonna last long, but the 600 round hicap will.

I'm a mid-cap player myself.

However, I've discovered in certain weather conditions, too hot, too humid, the plastic lower receiver will expand ever so slightly & my mid caps won't function properly - too sloppy, miss feed, etc.

I carry hi-caps to act as back ups & for those occasions where I may be called upon to act as the section support weapon (SAW).

Low caps are the best in quality and how good it is. Mid cap comes next then comes Hicap. Unless you want to pay a lot of money it goes in that order =D. ( Obviously)

Are those 3000rd Sound activated mags considered Hi-Caps or Ultra-Caps?

Yeah well I have an AUG HBAR, and they don't make boxes for that! So I use 1 hicap (330) and 4 standards (80).

Again, I have an AUG HBAR, and last game I used about 1000-1200 rounds in a 6-7 hour game.
