We are currently trying to start a tyeam in Fort St. John, BC and are wondering about the rules. We have seen what rules are out there and it almost seems like everyone is afraid of being shot, i know it is painful but isn't it just as big a part of the game as shooting, i mean come on, i love the adrenaline of getting shot. our rule state that you must wear saftey glasses, and all fully automatic guns over 360fps must be used outside close quarters. isn't this enough for rules??

It's not bad for a start. FPS rules are determined by the field and by what the players are willing to accept. If you guys are all cool with 360 then 360 is fine.

Also, remember that accidents happen. Panic fire, ND's, etc, and FPS limits help to limit the damage.

I don't really think it's about people being afraid of getting shot. It's the safety factor. But if you want to run with "your" rules, that's fine too, players who attend your games/events will have a choice whether they accept your rules or not.

TTAC3 have their own rules, for example, they don't have "mercy rules" - and it works for the crowd that goes there. Brian can probably give you more details about their rule set and how it's working out for them.

Fields vary. For instance my rules at LZ Woodstock vary from Joes at Flagraiders, Wolfpack's at Muskoka etc. Find the medium that is best for your team. The obvious rules like eye protection, even if it's just certified safety glasses, bolles whatever. 425fps is generally the highest AEG limit, exception is for snipers who need backups etc. And as Phalanix said it's always good to have a mercy rule in effect too. Never sacrifice safety and don't be afraid to talk to those who blantantly ignore or risk the safety of others.

Have you folks met up with the existing FSJ club yet? They have access to some great fields to play in (And are a nice hardcore group).

The 'rules' you must follow are a mix of Federal, Provincial, and Municipal laws and regulations. (Age, insurance coverage, where you can play)

The rest is common sense. I would not trust something that cant be fixed (my eyes) to simple safety glasses.

For your own safety, PB Approved, or Ballistic Approved eye protection during game play.
