question about gump...

ok so heres the scoop...
back in january, my mechbox was givien to gump to re glue a post in it, and make sure it was in good working order again... i got the mechbox back about 3-4 months later, in the mail, in a bag that had several rips in it. the mechbox was completely dissassembled, with many pieces missing (tappet plate, safety switch, etc) so i asked him if i sent my whole M4 CASV back up, in full, if he could make sure the gun was in full working order.

it has been nearly 2 months since the gun has been in toronto, waiting for him to put it back together, and me to go pick it up.

i understand that he is doing this as a favor to me, but is it really a favor that iv missed almost half the season, because he is taking his sweet ass time?
i call him every 2-3 days, just to see if i can get a response out of him, to see how far along the project is, and he never answers, and the times that he does answer its very short and sweet, and he tells me 'i have free time in the next few days, it will be done then.'

dont get me wrong, im not trying to bad mouth the guy or anything, i just want my gun back, and in working order, so i can enjoy what i spent so much money on.

so what im wondering here is if anyone that talks to him regularly can get ahold of him and let him know that id like to pick up my M4, whether it be in working order or not, and instead of him fixing it, just give me the parts that were lost, and ill figure out some other means of getting it back together.

thanks for your time.

Seemingly by convenience, you ommited the little bits of the story that are most relevant, so heres the whole thing for everyone to see:
you gave a disassembeled mechbox to atreyu to have me repair it for you
At no time during this process, did i realize that it was for someone else - i thought it was HIS!
the repair was to fix the broken post that the switch slams against, and i repaired it precisely and perfectly
the bag, as it arrived to me, had a HOLE IN IT, leaving me to figure out weather or not I lost the parts or they were lost enroute to my place
the bag sat there for a while in the winter, and during that time, all this crap with atreyu went down. i actually forgot where the damned thing came from, because he never got back to me about it - very obviously, he COULDNT get back to me on it
the box was not reassembeled, as I assumed that the disassembeler could reassemble it
You were charged $60.00 for the repair by heather/atreyu - i charged them NOTHING because it was an easy repair
When i found out the real story, I told you i felt bad about the whole thing, even though it had NOTHING to do with me, and offered to replace the parts and assemble the BOX for free
You then started to try to make arrangements to get me to put the WHOLE GUN back together, to which I offered NO RESISTANCE
You couldn't manage to meet up with me for some reason, and I even told you it could probably be done in an hour or so if you could make it to my house
You then made arrangements with me for me to go get it from someone elses house, in downtown toronto, without ANY RESISTANCE from me
I picked it up a week and a half ago... maybe even 2 weeks ago.
And on top of all this, unbeknowst to you and everyone else in the airsoft world, the last 5 weeks of my life I've been training for and learning a COMPLETELY NEW JOB which has been very demending of my time and brain power.
Now I see this post on ASC.

My charitable nature when it comes to airsoft repairs has come to an end.
Your gun is going back to the place I picked it up from.
I will not take responsibility for the missing parts, as I have since completely cleaned up the exact area where the bag of parts sat for so long and found NONE of the missing pieces.
Anyone else who wants airsoft repairs from here on in will be charged at a rate of $200.00 PER HOUR, and if thats too much then theres lots of other places to get it done.
If anyone has an opinion and wants to share it with me, you'll have to contact me elsewhere, as I very rarely ever use this site.

like i said, i never intended to start some huge drama over this, gump is completely correct on the full story, other than the fact that i have messeges saved, from him saying that 'he is done with his old job, and has a lot of free time on his hands'. he mentioned to me once that he was training for his new job and was busy for a few days, but from what he had told me it would have only taken an hour to fix my aeg.

I would like to apologize to those that read this post and somehow thought i was slandering gumps name, because i was not intending to. if you took it that way you should go back and read it again.

im sure any of you would feel the same way if your primary AEG had not been in your possession for the past half year.

I know i would be piss about not having my AEG for a couple months.

Good luck with your gun/mechbox, and with your new job Grump!

Simply put Heather and Atreyu abused Gump's charity work. They accepted broken guns, FRAUDULENTLY presented themselves as gunsmiths, had Gump fix the guns for free, took the guns back and charged the end user. Thats beyond low class. It makes me sick. I've known Gump for going on 5 years now and he's fixed about 5 of my guns without ever asking me for a penny. I usually take him to dinner to show him my appreciation. For those in the community who don't know, he likes Pho and Korean BBQ.

When Gump does charity gun work, its ON HIS TIME AND HIS TERMS. How DARE you accuse him of being negligent when in essence he was doing you a favor. You know what Atreyu and Heather did. Don't transfer that to Gump as somehow being accountable to you.

Your issue is with Atreyu and Heather. One is in jail and the other is probably in hiding. If you have anything to complain about it is their behaviour and misrepresentations.

I suggest you learn to fix your own mechboxes now because I am pretty sure you're going to have a hard time finding anyone who will touch yours going forward.

Gump is the most gentle fellow here on ASC. He's always ready to help a fellow out with any problems they have on their guns. I can trust this guy 100%!

Although I'm the reason that Gump left ASC, I still considered him a very good guy and very knowledgeable. I don't see how someone could complain about him.

I'm terribly tired, but rightfully fed up with the incorrect information that you CONTINUE to post.

YOUR PRIMARY AEG HAS BEEN IN MY POSESSION FOR NOT MORE THAN 2 WEEKS
and the rest of the story about the parts bag was disclosed above.
Your stuff will be returned to the person I got it from. i will be away all weekend, and try to contact them monday to make arrangements to get it back to them for you.

And yes, when I left my old job, I though there would be a lot of time on my hands, and boy was I fucking wrong. Sometimes things don't turn out as you expect them to.

alright, first and foremost, i can see why your all mad, but why cant you guys read what i said? it was politely put, that all i wanted to do was get my gun back... gump i never meant any harm by it, i called you atleast once a week, just to see if you had picked the gun up yet, for almost 2 months, now all of you can take sides and flame me, but come on... all i wanted was my gun back, and you havent answered your phone for me to tell you that, and im sick of wasting my time trying to get ahold of you, so i figured someone on here that would know you would simply just let you know.

and i didnt feel the need to post ANYTHING about atreyu or heather because those two are just fuckin out there, the result of them charging me was delt with, i was paid back in full without any arguement, and that was the last of it.

i didnt mean to cause any feud on here, but i knew it would of turned out this way.

this is my last post on this subject, after this i cannot care any more about this thread, as it has gone WAY out of control.

my answer to this question is i do not want to be known throughout the airsoft community that i may have been someone that befriended atreyu in any way.
i did not see a need for that in the main thread, evidently i was incorrect.

now i will say it for the last time, for the record.

I am sorry to gump, for what may have been what seemed to some of you that this was meant to slander his name, or put him down in ANY WAY. i just wanted my AEG back, without any more delay.
in my eyes i dont see how i should have to apologize,
but im doing it anyways, just because this has gone FAR out of control.
