Ok, i'm sure some of you already saw the pics for this gun. What i was wondering is how to make the CA M24 look like it. At least the barrel with that sweet flash hider:

http://www.vandykerifles.com/m24.htm

Any idea? I'm thinking it would require the barrel to be threaded on the exterior then a custom peice made for the flash hider? Where could it be done w/o making the gun to heavy?

Just a bit of ingenuity and the right choice of materials is all you can do. Very sweet gun though, but literally it's up to yo uto make the parts and make them fit. No one can offer much better advice than that (again).

Probably a metal working shop. Hell if you want to make a few project guns and DIY you could go as far as getting used Milling tools(Considering they are very expensive new) and make it work for YOU. I'm not sure a gunsmith could help you real steel or airsoft. Have you checked the overseas retailers yet too to see if they have some of the parts. Though by the looks of it you are probably going to have to get a custom flash hider.

EDIT: You can get threading tools if you want to DIY but it's a difficult task(Tryed it myself) and it's not redoable which is what makes it the hardest. I had them in my Tech class at school, Not exactly sure where to buy them, but I would try to see if Princess Auto has them.

Isn't it just a threading bit? Like something you could put in a drill press and make use of the drill press's perfection and accuracy? (assuming you're using it right)

Hmmm, There could be those but from what I have expirience with it was like handle bars with a thread hole in the middle and you hammer it onto an Aluminum bar and just twist it, alot people messed it on it from what I remember.

I was thinking of having the exterior of the barrel threaded, or even better, check the inside for threading, and then have a custom flash hider made to give it that M95 look :P

Or have it professionally welded....

Anyone know what the barrel of the CA M24 is made of? Aluminum?

probably best do it on a tanaka m24 platform and have a flash hider machined for it. looks like a basic lathe job, then some mill work to flatten out the sides.

This is probably only one of many of Vondniks projects, took me a little while to dig up the thread and pic, but here they are:

He's a mod on here, played airsoft for years, now only plays the occasional game since he's more interested in his real steel collection.

there is a crosman pellet gun at canadian tire with that sort of barrel, Not exact, but very similar. (I know, i was browsing there today) But as for that fitting an airsoft barrel, i wouldnt know, but the gun is about $150, which is kinda pricy.

On a CA M24 you can take off the cap at the end and thus reveal some threads. There is an adaptor that goes on to that and offers you some 14mm threads if I'm correct. Now if the PSG-1 has 14mm threads you can get the M82 flash hider (http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...M82T_cat_Flash Hiders) so that would basically give you something similar to what you are looking for without having to pay too much. Also, the outer barrel of the CA M24 is made of pot metal.

EDIT: Here's the adaptor taken from the Silencer thread: http://redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/ai...l?prodID=18367
