Another Question =)

Hi again, I had posted about 2 years ago http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=7052 when I was 16. Im now 18 (waiting to try and get age verified) and im looking into the sport again. I was thinking about starting with a TM M4A1 S-System as a starter AEG but my problem is since I live in thunder bay (I have searched the forums alot) I dont have anywhere to practice. I was thinking about posibly practicing during the winter and then heading to souther ontario next summer. I dont know if im posting in the right forum (feel free to move or delete) and I know there has been like 100 posts on this but is there anyone from around the thunder bay region (within a few hours drive) that has a team/field to practice/play at? I dont want to really spend like 1000$+ and then not have anywhere to practice. Also if anyone has any suggestions on a starter gun better then the M4A1 S-System (or any comments on it) it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Read the reviews, check with local Teams (divided by Province in the Teams section), then make up your own mind.

Picking a gun you dont see all the time in the Doctor's corner is another good trick.

In my business, the best praise I can give a car is that I never see it in the shop, so yes, this is solid advice.

Got ya, ive been searching the forums and reading reviews. Basicly I guess my real problem is IF I ended up purchasing an AEG where would I practice. Theres no way in hell I would take my weapon anywhere near my backyard as I live in the middle of the city with some pretty stuck up neighbours. Anyone else ever experience this kind of a situation, or have any suggestions? I might posibly be able to make it to winnipeg once or twice (im about 8 hours away) but that really doesn't seem practical.

I had a car that only saw the garage for oil changes, and I owned the thing for more than 5 years. The advice applies in many cases.

I picked my own guns using the same advice. So far so good.

You can practice in your basement or lock yourself in the garage to do so. I sectioned off a corner of my basement as a range to test out my guns.

Cool, good idea (though my basement is packed full of stuff) i have a nice big back work room with just concrete walls, could make a descent practice area with some work. I have been talking to a few airsoft buddies of mine aswell as reading some reviews, and I think im going to save up for the G&P M4A1 (same prices as the TM M4A1 S-System). I'm still trying to find some thunder bay players that might be able to help me out a bit, or know of a place to play so if any of you are reading this msg me on msn (mashteam@hotmail.com)

Personally i recommend the TM over the G&P. Freinds of mine have G&P M4s and thers have had alot of problems out of the box. Save yourself the hassell.

Think of it this way, theres no point to having a full metal gun when it doesnt work for w/e reason.

in one of my freinds G&P M4 he had the following problems:
-hop up was screwed and needed to be replaced (out of the box)
-since it was shooting 410fps the spring was fucking up the gears and wouldnt fire right
-mags didnt feed properly
He had a couple other probs but i cant remmber right now.

Price should not be the deciding factor.

There are many manufacturers who produce Armalite variants. Since they all look pretty much the same, the price difference is in the internals and/or the quality of construction.

Spend the extra money on something more durable, and you'll be happy.

Hint, AK's are tough as nails.

My TM M4 is good but everyonce in a while I have to tweek the plate on the bottom of my pistol grip. To prevent seizing up...

You asked what guns I bought, I'll tell you what guns I kept instead. Right now it's a TM Spetznatz, a TM AK47, and a King Arms Dragunov. See a trend?

There's a few others I use for courses and (authorized) displays, but those above are what I've used.
