Airsoft Alliance Canada Shut Down?

I was browsing through the Canadian retailers as I usually do and noticed that Ranger's and Double Edge are shut down until further notice. Also, it appears they are unable to do any special orders at all.

I was wondering if anyone has heard why this is? I have my own suspicians, but I'd rather hear from someone "in the know".

It would be a shame not to have other retailers in Canada as I'm a firm believer in healthy competition and diversity.

Anyone?

I heard that customs has changed their rule and regulations on the importation of airsoft guns. Only 3 pieces of the same type can be imported in at one time.

This may be the reason why everyone is having trouble.

Just my guess.

Yeah, that's an old rule not often enforced. I would think it would be something more serious than that. If you're shipment didn't comply based on volumes, they would not seize it, but rather deny entry.

Even if they enforced seizure, I wouldn't think that multiple companies would be affected by that. It would be a short-term financial loss and not a business killer.

anyone think this might have something to do with that Peter Kang guy who was writing letters to the gov. or something to get DoubleEdges Import licence taken away? I think I remember reading that somewhere.

Why would you start slinging shit with out any sort of proof/even hearsay? Email the retailers and ask them, or better yet they all frequent ASC im sure if they want to give an explanation they will.

Not sure who locked this, any reason it's locked?...

I'm kind of curious myself what happened.

Well I'm just going to re-open it, but whoever closed it, if there was a good reason to close it, by all means...

Can you post it here so that he isn't inundated with emails?

If he willingly told you, it's obviously no secret. Why have us innundate Randy with e-mails when it can just be posted here?

I have e-mailed Randy for some information regarding this issue. If / when I receive a reply I will post it here for you provided that Randy has not asked me to do otherwise.

If the latter is requested that I will at least say so here, so no one is left hanging.

Randy hasn't been on this forum in months. The Ranger's and Double websites both say the same thing. For guys who have pending orders, etc., they should contact Randy or Jackson. Randy has told me what's going on, but I think it should be his responsibility to inform the community. He never specifically told me not to say anything, but still, he should tell you.

I will say this. You'll need to find another retailer.
