RedWolf modifications worth the extra money to TM G36c?
Hi, I'm going to buy a Tokyo Mauri G36c. I would like it to be very reliable out of the box, therefore I have been eyeing RedWolf Airsoft's TM G36c upgrade packages. The most I'll be willing to spend on upgrades is around $100, so RedWolf's US$85 package seemed enticing. Here's what package includes, verbatim:
1. Install Prometheus spring 2. Systema Steel bushings 3. Custom gearbox work to ensure smooth operation You can also view the gun on their site here, and view the upgrade package here. I'm really only concerned with increasing the FPS to around 350-375 and ensuring the gun is reliable and will not break. I will be using an 8.4v in the gun, even though the packages include 9.6v (higher ROF is not, in my opinion, worth shredding your internals). So is the upgrade package worth the $85, or should I buy some different upgrade parts myself? Or is the TM G36c reliable out of the box (I have read differing reviews)? Thanks!

How much do you value a good shim job? You're shelling out about $50 USD for "custom gearbox work", a fancy way of saying "shimming properly".

Not a bad idea. I've heard nothing but good things about the TM G36, as per most TM products, and the Prometheus spring and Systema bushings are nice, but you might just be wiser to get the CA G36, stronger body, metal bushings already, and it shoots a little hotter than the TM, but I don't know the exact numbers.

Putting thin spacers in so that the gears line up, and mesh properly without binding. |

Ok, thank you. I've made my decision: TM G36c with said upgrades. Thanks guys!
