Sewing patterns for Tactical Pistol Holster

I am looking for a place or person to get a cutting/sewing pattern for a left handed drop leg pistol holster. If anyone know of where I can get on I would appreciate it.

Take a right handed holster and reverse the pattern . It would also be helpful to know what weapon this holster is to fit .

easyest way would be to take some stencile paper and make differant shapes and sizes entil you find one that fits then trace that on to cordura nylon. remember that most holsters are made from several layers sandwitched with some sort of high dencity foam to make them non colapsible, then add any accessories you want and sew it closed.
somthing similar to that should work, sorry for the crapy drawing but its late and im tierd. then make a thumb break and your good to go.

If you're interested I have a drop leg holster than can be changed to fit either right hand or left handed users in cadpat.

Pyle's pattern is almost right. The center part (for the spine) should not be angled. The spine should be about the width of your sidearm at the slide. The outside edge of the holster should drop about the width of the butt and enough clearance for a good grab.

Remember to sew anything to the outside BEFORE you close it up and sew it in half. Also remember to add .25 inches on all sewn measurements to allow for solid stitching (you need to stitch at least a quarter inch in or the material will fray over time and the stitching will give out.

Look, lets make this easy. Whay kind of gun are you looking to carry, and what application is the holster? Belt mounted? Drop leg? Internal?

It is going to be a drop leg for a WE Hicapa 5.1 with 2 spare mag pouches, and a holder for my 203 shell, and maybe a knife sheath(not sure on that one yet). I got a proto type built last night with a nice bright blue cordura (only color I had at the time). I know I can buy one but this is just for kicks. I will continue playing with this for a while til I get it right. Night time boredom sucks right? LOL.

Pyle: Thanks for the drawing. I did mine different than that but yours definately makes more sense. Mine was just a glorified pouch with a thumb break. I will go back to the drawing board tonight As far as aking for the pattern goes, it is much easier to take an existing pattern and modify it.

Does anyone know what the hi density foam that they use is?

1/8" high density foam. Not easy to find in consumer markets though. Some are made with Cordura laminate or plastic laminate between Cordura sheets.

Note, you shouldn't put mag pouches on your pistol holster. Although a lot of them come with that "feature", it makes no functional sense. You should carry mags on your weak side, so you can reach them while the weapon is in your hand.

Not too shabby. Kinda rough, but like you said, it's a prototype. I totally dig though. Good job man.

thanks gandar , MadMorbius gave the best advice about finishing everything on the outside first i had to take mine apart twice to add things I didnt think about. As for the foam i used the foam padding out of an old backpack :-D

You always seat your mags backwards like that? Must affect the rate of fire some.
