If you are just beggining airsoft, get an AEG first. If you really want GBBRs, both the SCAR-H and EBR are great choices. I would choose the SCAR for better ergonomics over the EBR.

I would go with an AEG first just much easier to maintain and run and IMO for a beginner more reliable.

If you're just starting out in the sport/hobby, the Krytac is a great choice.

first gun? avoid blow back. avoid gas guns. They are more fun but require constant maintenance. Do you think you want to upgrade or modify your gun? go for VFC. Do you want a high end gun out of the box and plan no upgrade? Krytac. Do you want a balanced gun of price and quality? G&G. if you are too cheap to go all out, pick up valken or lancer for cheap price.

watch your budget, you can go over too fast.

good god dont' pick up a lancer or valken if budget is limited. g&g combat machine is the best line for low budget m4s and cyma AKs for the evil guns.

I paid 100$ for my first gun(Lancer M4) and I am glad I got a cheapy. It makes me appreciate the cool stuff I own now.

Or buy something made by krytac or vfc. They seem to retain the best value out of most airsoft brands and you'll get at least 50% of what you bought it for if you decide this isn't for you.

if the lancer lasts a year it owes you nothing lol so that at least is a good thing if it lasts... a cm will more than likely last 2 years as long as you don't play in the cold. If a piston strips it strips, but if the gearbox shell cracks then that's a costly fix.

Cyma aks were used as field rentals at a local field here, they were abused for an entire year and very few of them ever had issues. I know because I was the one that serviced the broken ones. I think out of like 40 rentals in 2 years, 1 broke a nozzle and 1 had a defective motor that seized up. Another field locally here has been using valkens and they are nothing but trouble. Their contacts constantly need replacing.

Don't buy cheap crap with high lemon rates for your first gun, i.e. Lancer/Valken. You want something reliable to minimize your chance of ending up with a broken pile of junk that isn't worth spending good money to fix.

Krytac are arguably the best guns out of the box; good for a beginner with a higher budget who doesn't want to worry about upgrading anything right away.

G&G CM's (Combat Machines) are also good beginner guns, but for someone with a lower budget. I wouldn't spend more than $180-$220 on a CM. The reason they're good is because they're a great value for what you pay. The more expensive models don't have a good value to performance ratio. If you're paying more than that you'd be much better off getting a lower priced VFC.
