grenades

im new to this forum, finally made an account so i could ask for input on grenades...any one use the mk2? thunder b's? or tornados/cyclones?
i have not, but then again i have never considered myself to be as serious of an airsofter as all the people here (which is why i never post, just a spectator...but cant find threads on grenades)

Thunder Bs are great noise makers. Cyclones and Tornados are great BB grenades

i've heard of ppl filling thunder bs half way with BBs (and/or flour) and they blow out the shell...that true?
also, what kinda range or fps do the tornados have?

FPS? Not a lot, I think around 200, but they have no flight stability, so the BBs just come out fast and lose mojo. It's an AOE thing. If a tornado lands in heavy grass or brush, the surroundings can absorb thing impact making it "meh". People are starting to swear by the Cyclones.

Here's what you need to know about grenades; mostly they are used as room clearers, because tossing them into the brush means really hard to find. And they are more effective on a hard surface. They are also the most commonly stolen item, because once you throw it you must then go get it right away. Some idiots get frustrtated and toss your grenade off into the wild blue yonder once it takes them out, then pretend they have no idea where it is. So basically, it's toss and then collect.

Thunder Bs are getting banned a lot of places due to the decibel level and potential shrapnel from them going off. I've never been bothered by one, but insurance and all that I guess. They're fun as hell though, and yes you can carefully load them with stuff, but they have no consistent regulation of pressure, so any and all injuries would be on you.

I have a timed tornado with a spoon kit and find maybe once a day where it's really feasible to use it. If I was playing more indoor I'd think of carrying more and using it more.

thx, great info...where i play is outside with like 3 abandonded barn like structure on a huge private property (no passersby, but a few horses, iv played on horseback actually haha) so i think ill try the thunders b's with some BBs, when you say "no consistent regulation of pressure" you mean that the detonation times vary? i know they go off real quick if over packed....ppl i play with never put limits on that kinda stuff...except the time someone had a sword sheathed on their back...wtf?!
Im not worried bought theft, that wouldnt happen on texada..

Uzi mike? from pr? is that you...? if so i wouldnt think the tornados or mk2s would be practical at the farm...we could probably have lotsa fun with those thunders tho....ill order a 12 pack after the postal strike and we can test em out..i also wanna try making a landmine that covers victims in flour...

also mike, stopping making ignorant comments and antagonizing people here or we'll never be allowed to play events on the island, hahaha...just cause these people have invested way more into airsoft then any of our group doesnt mean we cant intermingle....seriously, iknow you hate cops and have been mistreated pretty badly by them but talking about it here wont help, and it will leave people not wanting to game with you or anyone from our small group here.

what about the launcher attatchment??...they seem more like shotguns put onto an aeg but if they can send 100+ BBs 100ft out...that might be a cool feature...

if you toss a cyclone into 1-2foot high grass what kinda range does it maintain?
and regarding the launchers...does quality depend more on what 40mm shell u have? (recommendations?) or more the launcher attachment being used? i really think its the only AEG add-on that interests me...scopes are stupid, lasers are no good in the day...but a shotgun like burst might be usefull if its not a gimmicky shot...

@mike, i think the thunder bs might scare my dads horses...not saying i wont let you use them, but no horseplay if you skirmish with them..i dont wanna get kicked off Buster when one of those goes off under him, lol, and remember, he doesnt have eye protection

Anything in a couple feet of grass has no range.

It's a bit chewy around the edges and go great with salads but too much will cause indigestion.

Otherwise you usually won't feel it or it feels like someone threw pocket sand at you...

I've had a couple where one or two BBs could be felt (very light sting) and the rest are just, meh, whatever.

I was wondering this, I bought one and used it maybe 4-5 throws and the plastic cracked right at the bottom of the actual body of the grenade. It was a Siege and I didn't throw it hard just a normal underhand toss. Would that be grounds to email them about it or will they think I am fool because of this?
