Battle belt advice please

Recently picked up a kwa kriss vector from a fellow asc member and wanting to do a light battle belt setup with it. My issue is I'm a fat oper8dur and looking for something in my waistline of 48 inches. Was thinking going hsgi but not sure what else is out there people could recommend.

the XL will probably only go to your hip sides and most of it will be behind you. I have a bit of a gut and found it rolled over the belt when I leaned over to the side or front, this might cause issues with pouch access or if you have open top pouches, could cause issues with bending the pouches enough that the mags pop out. Would recommend pouches with flaps if you go that way.

I don't really like long mags on my belt but that really depends on how you wear them if you kneel, crouch or prone a lot where your legs are not straight.

You want the belt that has the most rigidity to prevent it from bending, the hsgi has a plastic liner you can take out or leave in that keeps it nice and stiff. But anything that hangs over top or bottom can be bent and the belt can act as a fulcrum to lever shit out of open pouches.

That being said, I like my hsgi belt, and now that I'm 3 inches slimmer on the waist, I have less of that issue.

That was my main concern going belt route if the beer gut was gonna cause issues.

Wonder if I'm not better off going to cpgear mofcor. My current chest rig is Tasmanian tiger and works with stang mags but not really anything else. And 99% of my games are kneeling as I don't think any of the cover at my fields is higher then my waist

I had an HSGI belt - not too much of a beer gut issue for me but I still did not find it comfortable for kneeling and it interfered with my PC. I don't recommend any belt that is 3 molle rows tall.

I run a regular duty belt now with an HSGI leg rig. It is so much more comfortable, highly recommended.

depends on your torso proportions. I run the tasmanian tiger rig as well with the hsgi belt. The rig alone without the backpanel will sit lower on your chest and may interfere with anything on the belt that sticks up or out. I find with the optional backpanel you can set the rig a lot higher so it doesn't get in the way, at least on me.

The tas rig is a bit limited to anything rifle mag sized, but you can see how I have mine set up in the photo below. I tend not to put much in the side pockets so anything mounted on the sides can be accessed fairly well, I also crouch, crawl, sit, etc in this setup just fine. I do a lot of kneeling too.

That's me with the green shemagh and derpface. I'm about 5'8" and 235-240 in that photo, I've probably lost about 20-25 pounds since then, the rig is a bit looser now with the back panel but still sits pretty high. I'm working on a way to tighten it up.

I have another back panel in multicam sitting here, brand new I will probably be selling in the coming weeks.

I have the back panel already and I love the rig and get tons of people asking me about it. Really only reason I'm thinking of making switch is because of the shift back and forth in mag types from m4 to smg. Just from the reading and suggestions I think I'm just gonna make a change in my chest rig to the cpgear mofocr as I can attach and change pouches to what I'm taking to the field. Maybe when I loose some weight I'll return to the battle belt idea I just not confident enough it's going to work for me in my current situation. Now onto my new delema, relish green cad pat or yote brown.

if you encounter someone with the hsgi belt I would ask to see if you could try it on to see. My gut does sort of pour over mine a bit but it's not so bad it's getting in the way. If you're bigger than me then it could be a bit of an issue. I would prefer though that long mags be on my chest rather than a belt.

I have a platatac chicom chest rig for my mp5 which fits very well and is super light weight, so a small rig like that would be well suited for your needs for sure if you want to go lightweight.
