Lower face protection
Hey all,
So ive been using a lower mesh face mask forever now, and I'm wondering if there are any other alternatives. I am primarily looking for something that can integrate into my helmet probably by clipping into the arc rails or the "head-loc" tabs on my ops core. I try and integrate everything to the helmet so I can take off my goggles or my mask without also having to take off my helmet...which is handy for eating on field ect. Ive been running a modified lower mesh mask that is held in place against my revisions using the bungee's that are supposed to be used for the nvg's....but I plan on getting a set soon so I will need to look elsewhere. Anyone know of any lower masks that integrate properly with a ops core helmet or something?

Ive tried that as well, the mesh mask hangs in that setup and rides right against your nose and mouth...not a comfortable setup at all.
I dont have dental insurance so.............

My helmet is taken apart at the moment so I can swap out the retention band bit this is what I did. Cheap mesh mask, remove the headband (I think I cut it off) and weave a short band with with he head loc clip. It doesn't need to be tight and it is by far the most comfortable setup for face pro I've ever worn. I also really like it because I can conveniently un clip one side to hit up my hydration tube or take a tactical smoke break. |

I LIKE that brock0. Might steal it :P
Currently I'm using the bungee cords from my helmet plus the rear strap from the mesh mask to hold it up. When I want to remove it, I just unhook the bungee cords from the bottom of my mask and pull the mask down to around my neck. |

Would this mod work with the full sized mesh masks (the ones that cover the ears)?
Anyone have pics? |

the way I have it is its setup so that I have two small zip tie loops on opposite sides of the mask centered, and I use the bungee cords to hook into those.
The bungees pull the mask up and it keeps it in place against my goggles. This way the mask doesnt even touch my face, and feels like im not wearing it. I do not enjoy having the mesh rubbing and pressed against my face for long periods, so the way I have it works....but I will need to use my bungees for my nvg at some point so....ughhhhhhhhh.

This is the fit of the mask on my goggles. The mask rests up against the bottom of the goggle in front of the black foam. I bent the nose piece so it too rests on the goggle, not my face, because I'm not a fan of having that thing cheese grading my face either. |
