H2O Proof GEN-2 ECWCS Parka by Tru-Spec Review - Solution to affordable rain gear?
Hello all,
please find my review of the Tru-Spec Gen-2 ECWCS Waterpoof Parka on Youtube (link below). In my opinion it is a very affordable and good option for camouflaged or non camouflaged rain gear. Doc have you looked at the Goretex stealth suit? Its more pricey but its designed to be worn under the BDU. Its a different concept but it gets rid of some of the noise problems and also then it doesnt matter what color it is. I have the jacket but have not had the chance to use it. A lot of guys have them and like them.

One concern I would have with it, is just the overall decreased comfort you might experience as your BDUs soaka full with water. It might decrease your core temperate faster and increase your overall weight load. Additionally you would have to pack a spare set of BDUs to wear once the rain stops, if you do not want to tough it out and wait until your BDU dries. But again have not tried the stealth suits myself so the above is not based on any personal experience just thoughts that crossed my mind looking at it. Overall seems like a good solution though, might just not be for everyone. |

Yeah its definitely another option and a different way of solving the problem. You are right that normally you would have to wear the stealth suit until the clothes are dry to avoid being wet.
As I said on your FB page its great that you are review a product like this at an attainable price point. Some people might avoid longer games if they feel that they don't have the gear and can't or won't spend money on outdoor gear, or also like you said to have waterproofs in different patterns!
