GBBR - trigger issue in WE G39C with RA Tech trigger box
As the title suggests there is an issue with a GBBR that I have, however, it is not mine, which makes this post a little complicated.
I don't own a GBBR, but currently I am in talks with someone on ASC about trading for his WE G39C and some mags. He says the gun works great, except after 10,000+ rounds being fired through it he added a RA Tech trigger box, and he says that sometimes now the trigger "sticks" when firing. He said he thinks the sears are getting caught somehow as he is able to pull the trigger forward with easy and fire the weapon again. He said that this is a new issue that he hasn't been able to figure out himself, so I know being new to GBBRs, I know I won't on my own, which means I would probably have to take it into a gun doc or find a fellow ASC member who knows what's what that can show/tell me how. In a nut shell, I am kinda broke from several projects I just finished, so before I accept this trade, I want to know if this is a hard or easy fix (looking for people who have experienced this issue)? I dont want to trade for a gun that ill spend more than $50 on to fix. Any information you can provide is appreciated. Thanks, Zack

oh god I thought someone was calling me out in the forums ( i need to get a name change >_<)
what does he mean by the trigger sticks? like the trigger moves back and then doesnt move forward again? from what it sounds like I think one of his springs gave out and lost its tension, replacing a spring should be the end of your problems. ask for the stock trigger box as well |

I had problem with RA trigger set for WE ak74. Once I exchanged them, I'd found that the cocking was hard and blow back wasn't smooth. It was the RA set off spec. Then i had to compare the original set and filed the RA set to make it work. You must have the original parts.

Is it a trigger for G36 or M4?
Same problem with mine. the previous guy installed an M4 trigger kit in there and the trigger sticked. |

^Good call, could be as simple as that.

The return springs for the trigger on the Ra-Tech assembly are noticeably weaker than the stock springs, at least on the M4. Some slight polishing and use of stronger stock springs helped.

The reson is because of ratech's stupid hook design as I mentioned in many posts before as well as the weak trigger spring. Ratech's trigger groups are never made to spec with the WE counterparts which is why I use CWI for all my guns

If the trigger set or at least sear setup for the G36 is similar to that of the SCAR, it's probably a mixture of what people have been saying about the sears and the trigger springs.
I've encountered it on my SCAR and the only solution I've found so far is to lube up the sears significantly so that they slip easier. I'm sure if you really wanted to you could file down some of the edges to help them slip. This may help a little bit, but when I encountered my issue it specifically happened during firing while the trigger was depressed, as it would help the sears to connect further back on themselves. |

Thanks for all the info guys. The guy who owns the gun managed to fix the problem by taking the spring from his original WE trigger set and replaced the spring in the RA Tech set with it, and he says its working better than ever now. Much appreciated, all of you, even though I'm no longer taking the gun lol.
