First off its Elcan or Elane depending on the Model. Second, real ones are rare and hard to come by and are normally really expensive. Third, you will need a flat top reciever to mount the Elcan on to it.

not necesarily, you can go for the ghey look, and mount a rail to the carry handle.

It will fit, if you replace your upper reciever.

The real ones are neither rare nor hard to come by. The are, how ever, expensive. A remanufactured Elcan can be had for around $700.

I don't think there is... there's only the Elcan by Samurai and the Elane by Happy Trigger. Both are scopes. You have a link for the airsoft Elcan RDS?

Not to argue, as you are partially right, I was more going towards ones that still have working trinium(sp?)

The Elane/Elcan airsoft version isn't a red dot, it has crosshairs that illuminate in three intensities of red and three intensities of green. And it's magnified, 3x I think, but I find it hard to get eye relief right on easily. Seems to be "Get it damn close or you can't see" type of arrangment.

Nice scope though!

Well, the Elcan replica by Samurai doesn't have illuminated sights. But it does have a better eye relief and IMO has better clarity. It uses the three-bar pattern reticule. But the bars are a bit thick IMO.

The Elane replica by Happy Trigger, replicates Elcan's M145 scope. The Elane version has red/gree illuminated sights - but the eye relief isn't as good as the Samurai. It also comes with two types of screw on sun-shades. And I think the reticule looks better than the Samurai version.

Both replica scopes, however, have very good construction, very solid and are nice to have if you don't want to spend the money on the real thing.

I can try to get the two together and do a mini review later...
