Sorry to hijack your thread Brian, but I'm at the same stage as you and wondering the same thing so if someone could help, I'd be happy too!

Gordon L Rottman makes some great information on equipment used during the period.

North Vietnamese Army Soldier 1958-75 (Warrior): Gordon Rottman, Brian Delf: 9781846033711: Amazon.com: Books

US MACV-SOG Reconnaissance Team in Vietnam: Amazon.ca: Gordon Rottman, Brian Delf: Books

US Army Long-Range Patrol Scout in Vietnam 1965-71: Amazon.ca: Gordon Rottman, Adam Hook: Books

Those are examples of books I read. At the library if you get a chance to read, look for the VIETNAM EXPERIENCE hardcover.

I am sure there is, and that you are one. However, I know them and I do not really know you.

Point taken though

I recommend this book. Covers a lot. Tonnes of photos and gets unit specific ( e.g. Company E , 75th Infantry, "Riverine Rangers," 3d Brigade , 9th Infantry Division Tan An, 1969 "Parakeet Mission" )

A very good resource for enthusiasts, collectors and reenactors. The author is also a ex army and also sells authentic kit on ebay. I bought my NVA / VC rucksack from this fellow.
