Tac Vest Recommendations
I'm looking to get an OD Tac Vest, preferably from a canadian retailer. I'm looking for something that will be able to fit me 5'6'' 135 LBs. Looking for something $100 or less.
Looking for a vest with the best build quality for that price range. Not looking for the quick draw ones, that's what a drop leg is for. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated! -EDIT: Anyone have this vest? http://airsoftdepot.ca/catalog/produ...oducts_id=1413 Last edited by M.Garcia; June 25th, 2012 at 10:29.. |

I'd recommend you get something like a MOLLE plate carrier. I currently use a CMS-PC from Phantom with a full pouch set and I got it for 65 bucks. I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find something similar! Try checking out vests made by Flyye or PANTAC if your not looking to get anything "real-deal" such as EAGLE, LBT, SKD etc.

I will in the future get MOLLE. I've had a Pantac CIRAS before and I liked it. However for fast movements and skirmish play it was too much for me and I didn't like it on.
I think this one from AirsoftDepot.ca will do the trick I'm just looking to see if anyone has had it and acn shed some light on its build quality and if it will fit me. |

Same advice as with all your other threads....don't buy cheap. Especially gear.
The "$20 do everything perfect rig"...really is too good to be true. It'll look ok, it'll have all the pouches/snaps/buckles in the right spots...but it'll fall apart (litterally), tear, break. Used real gear can be had at really, really good prices in the forum classifieds. Typically a super deal once you figure in pouches and other bits. Pantac is really good bang for buck...but you're usually at/near real gear (used) prices. Used real gear is absolutely fine. Worn in gear functions, looks and works better than rigid new gear anyways. If you're looking at a "vest"...try a LBV. They're cheap...functional...easy to get on/off. Chest rigs like the RRV are super popular for a reason. EVERYONE goes with MOLLE because of being able to pick/choose/rearrange pouches. It's all nice, but I'd bet most people don't reconfigure their setups once they have them set. Fixed pouch setups are usually more comfy and lighter since you don't have all the extra yards of webbing and stitching. The Eagle Universal rig (and SKD variant) is a great fixed pouch rig that doesn't leave much at all wanting. |

I just remembered, Eagle Industries makes a very similar vest to the one you posted. It's called the TAC-V1. Its usually for sale on the classifieds for less than 100 bucks and the quality is TEN-FOLD compared to the one in your link. I saw a thread with one a few weeks ago.

Examples of these and good Canadian retailers to buy from would be spectacular as I've searched and searched and dunno what to buy. I need to see it to understand it.
-EDIT: Ok Conejo I will check classifieds again and see if I can find it. |

Grab a molle chest rig, such as an RRV (or there is a condor knockoff if you can't find one for your price range), which you can tighten a lot.
