Radios!
Im looking to buy a radio, but im kinda in the dark about them. Im looking for one that has good compatibility with other radios and can be used at outdoor games to keep in contact with game control and other players. I dont need a fancy one to "program" weather channels and what not as this would only be for airsoft.
Anyone have any suggestions? If you leave a suggestion leave an estimated price range for that radio if you can.

What im getting at is, are the Motorola ones that you get in a pair uhf compatible? I don't want to end up getting one and nobody can receive and I cant pickup. There seems to be mixed reviews on that front, some saying yes and others no.

Yah I heard good things about the Wouxun.

Don't ask any more questions about blister pack radios (Motorola et al). Get the Wouxun.
You will probably experience range issues. I had to act as a radio repeater since my team mates weren't getting responses at certain games with blister radios.

Alright, just wanted to clear those up.
Does the wouxun need to be programed or something, I saw a thread around here asking for help on that topic? I just need a radio that I can charge, pick up, go to a game, dial in the channel and play.

No. They are ready to go out of the box. Programming it would so you can easly change through channels.
There are more then enough ppl out there would can program your radio for you. All you need is the cord.

Alright,
A regular going price is about 110 for these? Also capital airsoft still doesn't load properly so I cant find the woux on their website.

Here's a list of FRS/GMRS frequencies that can be programmed into it. You really don't have to worry about the CTCSS tones. I have a wouxun myself, great radio.

I have 2 Wux's and an FDC. I am our teams radio guy I program all our stuff up etc. very very good radios.
as others have said DON'T consider FRS radios.. think of it this way... you spend $500+ on a gun you spend $100 a season on BB's you spend $500 + on gear and then you buy a crap $40 radio and expect to seriously be in communication... what surprises me is the amount of people who buy that FRS crap and then go to games like Claybank, Rhino and others and piss everyone off with their unclear low end communications... Coms are important. it keeps you in touch with your team lets you communicate objectives etc spend the $$$ on it.... I am sure Jeff can set you up real easy |

Most games that I go to, 1 team will use 1 frequency and the other team will use a different frequency. If you don't want the other team listening in, then the sub channels would be required. I guess this is where honesty comes in to play. |
