Throat Mic
Well I've been looking around online for a throat mic, and there are several options out there, some good, some bad, a lot expensive, some cheap.
Generally speaking, you get what you pay for but I was wondering if anyone had experience with any particular throat mic out there that was quite good. I've got a motorola set of radios that I've had luck with, so single pin would be a must. Thanks in advance **also i apologize i never used the search function.... flame away boys and girls... flame away....*** Last edited by McFearsom; April 19th, 2012 at 21:09.. |

I highly recommend the devgru throat mics. I picked mine up off redwood a couple years back. No background noises and very clear. They also have a multi radio set up in which you can choose the type of connector to match the pin setting on your radio, that way if you ever want to change your radio, you don't have to buy a new throat mic.

Hmm. I'm tempted in getting one of these as well. I had a cheap version a few years ago but it was crap.

How keen are you on the throat mic?
If you don't mind alternatives, I would suggest an ear-bone mic. |

Well im settin up a second kit as a recon/sniper, so I was hopin to get something dual purpose. Since recon relies on stealth I was hoping to get something whisper sensitive. And dutch I never heard of those. I'll have to check em out.

I had an IASUS NT3, the wire to connect across the PTT got frayed when i threw it into my bag instead of in it's case ONE TIME. And it garbled like crazy after that.
Got a black ops2, worked okay, not as clear as the NT3, then my radio got wet and fried the PTT internally, which went on to fry a headset port on my newer radio. Then I bought a whole new everything and tested it on a GP68, works great, but never touched a throat mic ever again. The NT3 has amazing clarity, I can whisper and it will come through perfectly crisp, could wear it 24h no problem. But they just aren't reliable enough for me. |
