Replica VAS & RS Rhino problems.

Hi all,

I just picked up a new replica FAST Ballistic from Huang and it appears that my real steel Rhino arm is not fitting on the (replica) VAS shroud it came with. Is this normal for replica VAS to not fit or is the Rhino not compatible with even the real VAS shroud at all?

My repro rhino arm (the old, metal one) fits on my ACM VAS (the aluminum one). It's extremely snug though, compared to when installed on the old single hole rhino mount. But with a bit of pressure it did fit.

Huang clone products do not fit real wilcox or rhino arms.

I have a Huang VAS shroud on a PT Alpha half cut. What I did was take the back plate off my real rhino arm and switch it with a huang rhino arm backplate to fit huang shrouds.

Also, the Huang backplate still fits loosely in a Huang shroud. I put small layers of electrical tape on the top and sides of the backplate and it fits in snug and no longer wobbles.

I have the real Rhino arm though, and not a repro.

Ouch. So my only other options are either to pick up a real VAS shroud for $85, or a replica Rhino from Huang for $54. Had I known this before, I would have just sprang for a real FAST helmet.

Anyone willing to trade a repro for a real steel Rhino arm?

the replica rhino from huang is absolute fucking garbage, I have 2 and they are paperweights.

Real J-arms will NOT fit huang rhino arms.

Get a real VAS shroud of buy a huang rhino and swap the plates like I said.

If you really want, Ill give you my 2 huang arms for your real one

Why didn't they just make everything 1:1 instead of this BS they've churned out instead? I'd like to use the VAS for its elegance, but I could resort to using the real Norotos mount that I have instead.

Maybe this will work: http://www.airsoftpark.com/product_i...oducts_id=9329

.. but its plastic.

Thats not the part you need to switch, its the part behind that part that goes into the base.

You have 2 options really my friend;
1. Get a real VAS shroud and use a real Rhino arm.
2. Buy a huang rhino arm, take the 2 screws off the back and swap it on your real one.

I went through this whole ordeal myself and tried many solutions, this is the only one that works properly and will give you a solid platform to mount a NVD on.

Should note too, the Huang plate will fit a real Rhino arm but the real Rhino plate will not fit back on the Huang arm

Wait, what?

I just took my Rhino's mounting plate off and it seems like there is only one piece.. which is the plate that has the sliding-lock mechanism on it. The plate I found in that link looks like a direct replacement for it. Unless we have different Rhino arms?

I have an extra Huang Rhino arm too.

If you want you can send me a small Express Post envelope and I'll peel the back off my extra and send it to you. All it will cost you is time and postage.

PM me for where to send the envelope.

Well there you go. Thats mighty nice of ya Danke.

Theres 2 philips or hex screws on the back of the plate, just need to undo those and it comes off.
I know the screw's from my real rhino arm wouldnt fit through the holes so i had to use the screws that came with the repro.

Hey Danke,

I've bought the piece from AirsoftPark already. If that doesn't work, I'll take you up on your very very generous offer.

Thanks so much!
