first aid kits
ok guys, i'm curious what you pack with you as a first aid kit for small day games or even longer full weekend games. I'm just looking for ideas that are out of the ordinary or the stuff that $10 kits you buy at the drug store don't have in them. I want to build myself something that will be ready if/when i ever need it.

You need to carry the stuff for the type of injury you might meet ! (hope you wont have to)
Dont bring stuff you woudn't use (it's suppose to be a small first aid kit not a hospital) and make shure to know what you do. Dont make things worst ! Phil_Black |

bandaids, dressings, saline wather for irrigation, desinfectant towellets and gel (like purel) latex gloves, knif, scisors, alcool, matchs, rope.
That would be a very good basic kit that fit in a medium, large pocket.

I just pack around a couple bandages ana a tensor bandage. Thats all I need really.
P.S make sure if you decide to get combat boots you lace them up like this...That way if you do happen to sprain your ankle or break it, it's easy for someone to take a knife and cut the lace off to get your foot out of the boot.

CF is basically "backwards", you put the lace through the top of the hole and out the bottom, all the way to the top, they pull tight easier, and they're easier to cut away. That's basically the best way to do up combats, as far as shoes or other boots, there're different techniques depending on what type of foot you have.

i broke my leg and ankle badly in a motocross accident a few years back, and it swelled up bad. i had a pair of motocross boots on and they are very stiff (like ski boots), and very hard to get off. i was lucky because one of the guys had a cell phone at the track; this was like 12 years ago before cell phones were common; so i got to the hospital quick. if i remember correctly (i was in a whole lotta pain) the guys just loosened it and used the stiff upper boot part to stabilize my foot while we waited for the ambulance.
wow that was so long ago it seems like another lifetime...sniff.. im gettin old. but anyway i digress. im not sayin thats the right thing to do, but remember that if sprained or broken the ankle will swell a lot and if the boot is still tied tight it could cut off circulation  |

I'd stick to rubbing alcool, it's a good desinfectant!

Navy way, straight-laced from bottom to top. Cuts quickly and easy to lace up. I've got my parade boots and winter boots done this way. Naval Combat way, use a boot zipper. Lace it up snug and tie it off at the top. My jungle boots are done up this way. |

I think he means joints as in tensor bandages (not joints as in marajuana cigaretts)
Correct me if i'm wrong though Erik
