WE GBB mag question regarding "gas-ing up"
So i just got into the GBBR scene and bought myself 2 rifles (SCAR and M4)
My biggest question is, how come I can only get 5~6 shots out of my mags? I am 100% certain there is no leak in the mag. I am using propane to gas them up. I was reading various guides, some say when gas-ing up keep the canister standing while others say it has to be upside down. Any input will be nice. I cant even get 10 shots on full auto. thx

How long are you filling the mags for?

Perhaps do a voodoo dance while filling up? By the way, we need more info on the GBBR and Gas you are using.

Edit: To JonsM4 he mentioned it's a WE SCAR and M4 using propane. Last edited by GSK88; January 15th, 2012 at 20:50.. |

Tank upside down. Don't listen to the other guys, they don't know what they are talking about.
You need liquid propane to be transferred from the tank to the mag. Standing upright prevents that and you loose to expanding properties of it in liquid state. Typical WE gbbr usage for me is to be able to cycle through 2 or almost 2 loads of BB's on one fill. Also, remember that with your gas tank, fuller is better! Btw, are you using the AI propane adapter? |

Thanks for the input guys. Yes I am using the AI Propane adapter. So tank upside down? I'll give it a try. How do I know its full? after a couple seconds the mag gets really cold and some frost forms at the bottom.
EDIT: The propane tank im using is coleman from wal-mart, is that the right kind? on a side note, how does one go about setting this up: WE SCAR OPEN-CHAMBER SYSTEM ã€€ç ´æ対ç*–å¾Œã€€è ¦å°„ - YouTube cheers

Assume that the grenade is the magazine and the AI gas can is a propane tank with an AI adaptor on it. Fills should be about 10-15 seconds.

AWESOME thanks guys~ finally emptied a whole mag on full auto
while we are on the topic of mags, do CO2 mags really kick a lot harder than propane? If its not a HUGE difference then i'll just stick with propane mags since its cheaper to get them running

C02 mags do kick harder, and work in lower temperatures than propane. They do cause the internals of the gun to wear a bit faster due to the additional stress, but as you most likely will upgrade to steel internals you shouldn't have an issue.

So your mag's floorplate should be facing up (so you can see the fill valve) and the propane bottle should be pointed downwards. Pay close attention to the angle of the stem on the fill valve in relation to the nozzle on the adapter: you want them to be aligned, otherwise the nozzle won't press down and open the fill valve sufficient and only a small amount of gas will be transferred, resulting in a small handful of weak shots (what I suspect is happening now). Something else to keep in mind is near-empty propane tanks have a hard time transfering their gas: unlike when the gas is being burnt off, once the mag starts filling up gas stops flowing when pressure equalizes between the canister and the mag. This too may result in only partial fills of your mag.

Thanks Eeyore. I will upgrade to the steel parts once the stock ones start showing some wear. Way more fun than AEG's
