VFC 416 Selector Problem
Hey guys, I've got a problem. I opened up my VFC 416 to upgrade the spring on it, I swapped the spring, put everything back as normal, but when I put it into the lower receiver it was a bit of a struggle to put it in place, and then when I tried to use the fire selector it required a fair amount of force and I noticed that the selector plate wasn't moving with the fire selector. I took out the spring, tappet plate, cylinder+head and nozzle, shut the gearbox and now when I put it in the lower receiver it goes in easy and engages the selector plate. I'm really confused as to what to do...
Sorry if somethings unclear, I'm really tired, frustrated, and have been working on this for a long time.

Is the inner disc loose on the lever? Mine's done that.

Do you mean on the fire selector switch? It appears to be fine.
So I took out the spring and left everything else in. The gearbox is a really tight fit and wouldn't align up with the holes in the lower receiver... something on the inside must be putting stress on the gearbox? Also, I tried to remove the selector plate but it wouldn't slide out... it appears to be a little warped where the fire selector engages it, I wonder if maybe I should get a new one, although as I said before, when I take out the cylinder and tappet plate it engages fine. Anybody know how to remove it?

When I put my gearbox in I slide it in nose first and then hook up the bolt catch. Then I press in the punch pin over the trigger. Then I put on the pistol grip and hook up the motor. Then I push in the captured rear pin.
As for the other details it's a regular V2 mechbox. Try reassembling yours in the order I noted. As you go through each step test the selector lever.

Ok, I think the disc on my selector switch must be loose, as when I put pressure on it with my finger and I flip the selector the disc wouldn't completely turn with the selector. What did you use to tighten it?

I used one of these
http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows....jsp?locale=en You do have to cut down a Philips head bit to fit in the shell. Another choice would be those 90 degree screwdrivers you can't find anywhere. Now they say you can punch out the disc opposite the selector switch to use a normal screw driver. Mine sure felt solid so I just left it. I hate messing with interference fit stuff if I don't have to.

Thanks a ton Danke for your help! It turns out that I was able to punch out the disc on the other side and use a screwdriver to tighten it up. Just waiting on my replacement selector switch and I should be good to go.
